hum, I guess I'm too stupid to appreciate subtitled, foreign films because I hate subtitles....I dont like reading at a movie, if i want to read I pick up a book.Dittomist wrote:and because most Americans are too stupid to read subtitles and appreciate foreign films. .
I have been willing to read subtitles at times over the years, but I do agree that they detract somewhat from the experience of the film. I find that I even read the subtitles when the film/TV show is in English (if the closed-caption button gets pushed, you know, for the hearing impaired). That is really distracting! Even when I can understand what the actors are saying, my eyes will read if the reading material is there. And you do miss some of the acting that way. (You also get caught up in the slight differences between printed text and spoken dialogue.)Spookymufu wrote:hum, I guess I'm too stupid to appreciate subtitled, foreign films because I hate subtitles....I dont like reading at a movie, if i want to read I pick up a book.Dittomist wrote:and because most Americans are too stupid to read subtitles and appreciate foreign films. .
