Ok, I have to tell you, I found a link to your post on another website and I was/am so impressed with your work and what you've done, I registered here at halloween.com so I can follow your progression! I can't wait to see how you do the water! What a service you have provided here, believe it or not! I am a beginner villager and you've just opened up new worlds for me. I can now see so many different things I can do with my layout and how the use of styrofoam is so beneficial for creating the look you want. You have given me wonderful ideas for my next village layout. Thank you so much for posting this!

Tonight i worked some more on the water portion of the display. i first added all the waves to the parts of the base that meet up to the island. then i removed the island and painted it with several shades of blue and green. when i was happy with the color it started to air brush white caps and a few details. so far i'm very happy with the look. Tomorrow i plan to finish up the details to make the waves really pop and then i will begin wiring everything up to timers. please feel free to leave and comments and or suggestions are always welcome

Great job!

I couldn't help but think of a sudo-Pirates of the Caribbeann the Ride layout while looking at your creation.

I love the lighting that you created inside the cave.

Can't wait to see more. :D

It really does have a pseudo-Pirates of the Caribbean look to it! Dramatic lighting on timers will be fun.

How about sound effects: a page of foghorn clips.

Your first display!!!!! Wow...absolutely marvelous!!!!!!!! I wish I had your skill with painting(airbrushing). I'm glad you found BNW/ning community....

Red Ranger said "I'm certainly going to tell everyone at our site about your work displayed here....."

and he did, so I am also here as a new member. I will try to find the new member thread, also.
But first I want ot say that I really love your display. I am guessing that, while it is your first village display, that you are not a novice to the arts. I love the work you have done on it and the cave is something else - a different way of doing water than the ones I have used or seen, but works extremely well. The beauty of it is that you can actually match the colour of the Lemax base's water - which is an art in itself lOL

I have been planning my Halloween display for next year already, and it is really interesting that it has some real similarities to yours in some ways, but real differences too . Enough said about that for now ;-)

Will be looking at your pics again to see more details - there is a lot to see - great work

yea same here... i haven't seen it either but that pirated display is AMAZING !!
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
