Defining Music of Halloween

Post by Boo » Fri Sep 21, 2007 9:11 am

Carrying on with Haunted Horseman's line of questioning, is there a piece of music that get's you in the mood (for Halloween not a horizontal workout)?

For me it's the theme music from the 'Witches of Eastwick' by John Williams.
The steeples are white in the wild moonlight,
And the trees have a silver glare;
Past the chimneys high see the vampires fly,
And the harpies of upper air,
That flutter and laugh and stare.

The theme music from "Halloween" does it for me. I blast it thoughout my neighborhood on Halloween night as trick or treaters arrive. Most love it
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

I don't want to sound like a snob but Vivaldi's Four Seasons puts me in the Halloween/autumn mood.

And of course The Ghastly Ones and The Misfits.

Also the Halloween Song from NBC.

that's bizarre, I was thinking of Vivaldi but thought no-one would get it if I posted it.
Great minds I suppose Dr. S :D

It's like I always say, you can lead a horse to water but if you teach him to fish you feed him for a lifetime.

It's all crass and commercial music for me...
1.) "Monster Mash". Bobby 'Boris' Pickett

2.) "I Put a Spell on You" Screaming Jay Hawkins

3.) "Martian Hop" The Randalls

4.) "Beetlejuice Theme" Danny Elfman

5.) "Addams Family Theme" Vic Mizzy

6.) "Tubular Bells (Exorcist theme)" Mike Oldfield
Future events such as these will effect you in the future

Anything that is dark and depressing or melodic like Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, and Evanescence. I do have one Halloween songs cd that starts out with the "Time Warp" and also has "Rock Lobster" that I usually listen to when I put up my decortations. Who ever would have thought "Rock Lobster" was a Halloween song??
“Come let us meet, with charm and spell, by magic arts our fates to tell.”

Have you ever seen the "making of" footage from the Thriller video? When Mike is doing his werecat screaming he sounded like someone stepping on a Pekinese.
