Yesterday afternoon, I made a big pot of Louisiana shrimp, egg, and okra gumbo, a Cajun delicacy...

And then in the evening, my wife and I had happy hour with our cats out on the balcony while watching a storm roll in... [/size]
After happy hour, we retired indoors to eat our gumbo supper while watching a recent YouTube interview of the Great Boudini, a childhood hero of mine who hosted cartoons and horror movies on one of the local TV stations in our Louisiana homeland

Today, my wife and I will drive to a nearby neighborhood that has an annual Best Decorated Halloween House and Business Contest to see the sights

Oh, that would be fun! A street around the corner did that sort of decorating for almost 20 years. The police would have to direct traffic sometimes on Halloween. But the pandemic kind of killed it. I guess lots of homeowners wanted the out, anyway. I miss that they don't do it so much anymore. Only a few of them. But I'm glad it was going on while my own kids were ToTing. On the bright side, a few more people on my street seem to be doing yard haunts. I used to be the only one.
