Re: Summerween?
Thanks for the link! We have some Abbott and Costello, but not that one. The ones we have came with those Universal monster movie dvds they sold at Walmart maybe ten years ago.
I envy your weather. We are sweltering in the 90s. But, hey, it's high summer in the South, so that's part of the package.

Luckily, it has maintained a fairly normal weather pattern, a few degrees lower during the day , so mid to upper seventies , but overnight just been blessedly in the forties , which is perfect , sleeping weather.

Oh, man, nighttime temps in the 40s? In July? If we're lucky it drops down into the 70s at night with low humidity. But mostly we feel soggy day and night.

Living on the 4th floor gives me the luxury of leaving all of the windows and sliding door pen all season and I only close it if it gets too cold or hot.
Last months electric bill was less than $30.
Our summer really hits in late August, early September, so it evens out in the end.

Re: Summerween?
I saw a Woman's World article this morning that was all about buying Summerween supplies at Dollar Tree. I guess it really has gone mainstream.
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this celebration. Obviously I love Halloween, but I really do love its autumnal vibe. I'm not sure I really want to get all Halloweenish at the height of summer, when I should be thinking about swimming and grilling and fireworks and American history. It's sort of like keeping your Christmas tree up all year ( and I know some people who do that). It just makes me go blind to the holiday when it actually should come.
Still, I might run by Dollar Tree and see if they have any cheap decor I might use this fall. The article mentioned flasks for potions, etc.

I agree, Murf, that it really doesn't feel right when it's a hundred degrees outside and you're looking at artificial autumn foliage.

It's like if i'm listening to the radio in the middle of winter and a beach boys song comes on , I can't get to the off switch fast enough.

Re: Summerween?
Lol. I guess the Beach Boys would do for a spring break in February or early March, but not when you're looking at snow out your window.
