Re: The Halloween collectibles thread
Actually, the stuff in the pictures here is only about 5% of the collection, I have waaaaay more than that but it's packed up for now. I shot the pictures years ago before I packed them up, and it's only got larger since then. I do have more old pictures from back then, including my horror movie posters, that I might post later.
I have so many NOES and NBC collectibles that it would fill about 10 pages of posts here. I have more autographed horror pictures and items, as well as other collectibles such as costunes, life sized props, which includes a 7ft tall Frankenstein, records, books, plush, and that doesn't even include my actual Halloween collection, which I've been collecting since I was a kid, and if you add the LOTR, Star Trek, and Star Wars items then I honestly couldn't tell you how much I have.
Below are pictures showing the room in the basement where I have the stuff packed, most of it is in containers and boxes. The room is 20x20 and this is only one corner of it, there are almost 100 large containers, and they go from one side of the room to the other, you can tell from the picture that it's stacked from floor to ceiling. There is also a old couch, dollhouse, and exercise bike in the pictures to give you some perspective on it. I will eventually put the stuff on display when my kids are older and I don't have to worry about them damaging it.
Murf - I know a older gentleman that has war related miniatures and models, in his basement he has tables set up with whole battlefields of different wars. He painted the miniatures himself and the display looks awesome, think of the miniature town from Beetlejuice, but it's the greatest battles in history, so I know your husband would appreciate it. The next time I visit him I will ask him if he has any pictures online, or I will get his permission to get some pictures and I'll post them here for you. If your husband has any models he has worked on recently, I would like to take a look at them if he doesn't mind you sharing some pictures here.
BTW, they sell the Hocos Pocus stuffed cats at Spirit Halloween, so you can get one for her later this month if they open that early in your area.
MauEvig - Yes, comic books count. Have you ever watched any of the Puppet Master movies? They are low grade horror movies, but they are good if you like that kind of film, you should check out Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, it was one of the better movies they made. There are plenty of other movies about toys coming to life and killing people as well, the most famous being the Chucky movies. Just don't ever watch Dolly Dearest, that is a damn creepy movie.

I'm sure my.husband would love to see your friend's dioramas, HH. He is not yet building his own models, however, since he's stocking up for retirement in a couple of years. Right now there's nothing to show.

Thanks Murf!
Oh Andy, you spelled the words capitalist American wrong. I know I saw somebody else here say that recently, who could it have been?
I just found out that my extended family is going to be here visiting in Oct. so we will be going out and doing fun things for the whole month like we did last year, I honestly can't wait.
My kids are probably going to have their friends hanging out with us again as well, and I still have to balance work with that, so I expect that it's going to be a busy month and I probably wont be on the forums too much, so I'm going to be posting more pictures in the next few days just to get them out of the way. Below is the only Christmas ornament that I got at Wal-Mart last week, normally I wouldn't get any Christmas stuff this early, but this is great for Halloween as well.
I'm posting this unrelated picture because I just had some donuts and I feel great!

Lol. You two are so funny.
Sounds like your October is going to be a blast, HH! If I were to buy that Christmas ornament, I'd display it only at Halloween.

Re: The Halloween collectibles thread
Well, then you probably shouldn't look at some of the pictures below.
We were at the mall the other day, yes, we still go to the mall, and we went to the candy store to look at the Halloween candy they had. They didn't really have much out yet, probably because the big stores already do, but they did have some things that I haven't seen anywhere else yet, like the large Reese's pumpkins, which I always get because they are my favorite, and new Kit Kat flavors like ghost toast, and they had a donut flavor as well. I got a few of them, but haven't tried them yet.
We also went to Hot Topic and saw the new Beetlejuice stuff, and Build-A-Bear had some Halloween themed bears out.

Re: The Halloween collectibles thread
Our Kroger started selling Reeses pumpkins, both dark and white, as well as the ghost KitKats, back in July. I've looked at them longingly, but our budget is so tight right now that I dare not buy anything spontaneously. Tonight I saw ghostly Peeps, and skulls, and Frankensteins, and pumpkins, for the first time in years there.
And I saw a Country Living Halloween Spectacular (Spooktacular?) At the check-out stand.

Safeway has a nice selection of Halloween arrangements and spooky things in the floral department...and I left without taking a single photo!
Next time, I swear.

Re: The Halloween collectibles thread
Man, every year I must shoot about 1000 pictures of Halloween merchandise at stores, and of yard decorations around my neighborhood, I just have them sitting in a folder. If any of you are out and come across anything Halloween related that you think is awesome, then you should get some pictures and post them here, it would be interesting to check out what different areas across the country have.
I shot these pictures at Michaels last month, most of it is the Spooky Town collectibles that they sell, but there are a few others as well. I actually have a lot of different Spooky Town houses already, and we always put out a large town display every year in the living room for Halloween, but my wife doesn't want me to show any pictures of the living room because we have family photos everywhere. I get 1 new piece to add to the town every year, and this year I got the theater pictured below.
