A corpse is a corpse, of course, of course
and no one can talk to a corpse of course
That is, of course, unless the corpse is the famous Mr. Dead.

Go right to the source and ask the corpse
he'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.

People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Dead will hardly speak because he's rotting away.

Good one Cad.... I haven't posted a poem in a couple of days. The weather turned very hot and humid and I couldn't get in the mood. I can only hope for some better Fall like days ahead.

I had a very strange friend
A talking head in a glass jar
The head went wherever I went
The head never let me stray too far

The head was my personal guardian
It told me all sorts of things
Last night it told me to go to my neighbors
And bash out his freaking brains

I told head I didn't want to do that
The head rolled its eyes and it sighed
It said, can you at least try this for me
Can you at least use Cyanide?

I asked the head, what is that?
The head taught me all about it
The head taught me about the law
And how I can get around it

So I put the head and its jar in my back pack
I worried bout how bad it might stink
We both went over to my neighbors
To offer him an herbal drink

My neighbor happily accepted
Then he smiled and walked inside
I did not tell head what I did
How I used sweetener instead of cyanide

That night the head cursed and he cussed me
Started threatening me in my sleep
So I mailed the head off to Scotland
Now the head can cuss at sheep

This is my entry for Monday the 10th, just a few hours sooner....



I'm possessed by a devil
it's true I say
but it's hard for me to convince
people of what I say

My head doesn't spin,
and pea soup doesn't fly
it's far more subtle with him
I'm just not a nice guy

When I was out with my girl
and she asked, "Am I pretty today?"
I felt him creep inside my brain
and this is what we say

"Your pants are too small
or your thighs are too big,
it's like over stretched spandex
trying to wrestle a pig."

"Your hair is too frizzy
your skin is too pale.
Your perfume makes me dizzy
smells like it was on sale."

"Your make-up looks applied
with Sears' best paint sprayer.
And by the looks of you now
you could use an extra layer."

As she walked away
and I sat wearing her drink
I wanted to apologize
but all I could do was think

"Why, Mr. Demon
have you done this to me?
What have I done
to deserve this misery?

And then Mr. Demon
responds from deep inside
And I hear his voice clear
and it sounds very snide

"I could thrash you about
and shoot fire from your hair,
lengthen your tongue by six feet
and work you over like Linda Blair."

"And what would happen then,
if I had you act so mean?
Why priests young and old
would come running at full steam!"

"But we in hell have found
something better tends to work,
people don't think you're possessed
they just think you're a jerk!"
