What Halloween Themed Tattoo Should I Get?

Post by Dr Strange » Thu Aug 30, 2007 11:35 am

Okay, years ago (seven to be exact) I got my first tattoo while in the Air Force. I was young and naive and the guy I went to wasn't the best. Long story short I want to cover what I have with something Halloween themed. Considering the size, location, and color of the tattoo I have narrowed it down to two options.
What they both have in common is a top hat that will be used to cover the majority of the existing design. I'd like to see the reaction of those here as to the better design. I'm a fan of the Haunted Mansion ghosts, especially the short lived Hat Box Ghost (even though I've never been  ). The Big Bad Wolf speaks more to my love of the Wolfman and werewolves in general. I'm staying away from anything "mean" looking cause I'm a family man.
When I do get the work done I will post pictures of the end results. Being that those on this board would have a better chance of understanding getting tattoos like these, any thoughts???

Both are cool, bu I have to vote for the Big Bad Wolf. I love the classic animation and I too am a fan of the Wolfman, like every kid on my block when I was growing up.

I really like that Wolf, Dr. Strange, that'd be a really cool tattoo! :D (Hey, my brother's been in the Air Force for a few years now, too. :) )

I like the wolf. Definitely more "family man" like than the ghost, IMHO.

So far it's unanimous, I'm for the wolf, too!!

I appreciate all the remarks. Sometimes when you're considering something like this you can lack a certian perspective, so it's good to hear what others have to say. Hopefully more people will chime in and vote; but to be honest I kind of thought the ghost would go over bigger, who knew?

Cool looking ink you've got there Hauntmaster!

Well yeah, they're both cool, but it just seems like the wolf would be more likeable on a long-term scale, ya know? I like his fangs, and the look on his face. :) Oh well, what do I know, I've never gotten a tattoo.

Thanks a lot to Dr Strange and Laurie!!

Actually, my fiancee is so busy, but she will promise to take some more of my tattoo pics... I only have some tattoos on both arms and only one on the back that you've seen it in the image shown above. Hell yeah, there's some more on my arms! 8)

BTW, I've taken my first tattoo in 1997, then again in 1998... And so go on in 2000 and 2004. Well, guess what??? She wanted me to stop taking so much tattoos on me and I had to listen to her because she loves me so much! Hee hee... Also, she doesn't want me to waste so much freaking money on these tattoos!

I know that everyone is saying Big Bad Wolf ..which I must admit is cool but the big bad wolf doesn't seem to capture any Halloween feeling atleast for me. I like the Hat Box Ghost if I had to pick between the two. I guess you just really have to think about what you want your tattoo to say.......

The Big Bad Wolf really screams "Disney" just per the artistic style of the character... the Hat Box Ghost is not-so-much "Disney" unless you're really familiar with Disney (even if you haven't ever been  ).

I like them both, but I'm with spookyboo on this one-- I like the Hat Box Ghost better, but that could just be because I like Halloween that much.

I really don't like either, get a cool Grim Reeper, or a skull.

Hey Dr.Strange, Well I really like both in their own unique way. I like the colouring in the wolf more whereas the ghost is just stark black and white. I like the expression on the Wolf, it's cool looking and not creepy which is important to you being a family man. But I too agree that it doesn't really speak of Halloween at all to me, more of the Cartoon genre, and Animation. The Box Hat Ghost is creepier looking and needs a tad more colour shading, but it does look far more Halloweenish. So I guess I'm with Spookyboo on that note, that you need to figure out what it is that you want your tattoo to speak about & Represent.
