Stephen King's IT

To be adapted into a two film movie. They have a director and writer whom I've never head of, now let's hope the pick some good actors. The TV mini-series wasn't bad but there's definitely room for improvement.

so....they hired a writer to re-write SK?

Couldnt he write his own screenplay?

Considering the results of the movies based on his writings, that he has been involved in, NO!!!

Agreed, he's much better in book form.

Most novelists do not write the screenplay. J. K. Rowling didn't write any of the Harry Potter films, though I believe she was a consultant on all of them. Screenwriting is actually quite different from novel-writing.

His books lately have suffered too though. He has begun injecting his politics into them as well.

I'm pretty sure SK did the screenplay on the Shining mini-series. It was OK but not as good as the Jack Nicholson movie.

I didn't know he'd written the TV mini-series, Spooky. I can see in that case why you were wondering if he'd written movie scripts.
