costumes 2009: wonderland! what do you all think??

so this year all my friends & i are planning to go as the characters from alice in wonderland!! we all love making/putting together our own costumes, as opposed to buying sets all packaged (this is one of my favorite parts of halloween!!), so any feedback/ideas would be great!! mind you, we're thinking of the original story, not so much the disney version..

i'll be alice, so i'm thinking of haunting ( ) some thrift stores till i find a pretty frock-like dress...



then adding tights, oxford pumps like these (since the real alice did live at oxford!!):



and a black ribbon hairband!!

what do you guys think?? sound good? what about for the other costumes (queen of hearts, mad hatter, cheshire cat, white rabbit, etc)?

I think ballet slippers would be more in keeping with her demure character.

would you carry a small cake and bottle, properly labeled, in your pocket?
If someone gets out of line you could offer them the cake

I agree. I think you need to change the shoes. I bet you can find some other shoes that'll be more alice in wonderland look.
