Tribute To Friday the 13th

Post by Nostalgiascape » Wed Jul 02, 2008 6:01 am

I’m looking at top 100 scariest movies lists, top 50, top 25. Friday the 13th is vastly underappreciated. But then Evil Dead II makes the list? War of the Worlds? Hey Boston Globe, piss off.

Not every Friday the 13th film was scary, but many were. And you could always count on Jason bringing hell to your TV screen or movie theater. Undoubtedly New Line Cinemas acquisition of the rights to Jason was the worst thing to happen to the series. They tried to kill the series. Jason goes to hell anyone? How bout Jason X. Jason X for crimeny sake. But the fans, the true fans who knew Jason still belonged on high with Michael and Leatherface, they kept the series alive. Then thankfully Freddy Vs Jason ended up looking good.

Now the same guy who spearheaded the revival of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is reviving Friday the 13th anew. This just after Rob Zombies brutal hacking of fans beloved Halloween.

I am in line February 13th for the remake of Friday the 13th. I am completely there. Jason is underrated, and its time the man behind the mask returns.
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

Parts 4, 6 and 7 are the best in my opinion and get regular play in my house. I've always loved the simplicity of the movies. No big continuous story lines, no b.s. Just a straightforward slasher.

I don't even like acknowledging that Jason X ever existed. :?

Have you seen the shots of the mask from the new film? Gave me chills. I too will be in line to see it.

Oh yes! I especially love how they're using the original wooden sign for Camp Crystal Lake!

This movie is becoming exciting.
