I loved Are you afraid of the dark? but I don't remember Eerie Indiana. I'm pretty sure I used to watch it cause it sounds familier but I can't remember anything about it.

Eerie Indiana was CLOSE to being a mix of X FILES AND TIWN PEAKS and ALMOST made it. One season on air, but you can't kick when you have folks like Joe Dante directing a few epsiodes..
Marshall and his family have moved to this small town and the kid thinks it's the centre for weirdness..and tries to collect proof. Elvis lives there...and each week, they'd have something that would make you go 'hmmmm...'
Now WHY it doesn't TOTALLY work or became a hit is beyond me..the writing was pretty good, maybe the got stuck in the divide between kiddie and adult shows and were never able to reconcile the two...don't know...but yeah, would be worth a look, especially if they brought eveybody back for guest commentary...

I loved Eerie Indiana! I remmber the episodes of the twins in 7th grade that stayed young because their mother kept them in giant tupperware containers at night. That was a really fun show and I was so upset when they took it off the air. :(

Yea I agree it fell inbetween age groups. I was a kid....and my dad let me watch it but my mom wouldnt. Luckily my parents are divorced so I got to watch it at least some of the time.

It was a kids show but most parents probably were too nervous about letting their kids watch it.

I guess if it came out today it wouldn't be so bad compared to all the <deleted> that is on tv. My dad and I watched it every week together. I wonder if it is on DVD or something but probably not.

Did Eerie Indiana start with the name Eerie Indiana on a wooden sign and a house or something behind it?

THAT SPECIFIC I don't remember..but the show always opened with the kid setting up the idea in a voice over and tossing a paper to Elvis on his route..Elvis would say:Thank you paper boy' his voice..

It might have started with the sign and the house, I don't remember that either, but like uncletor I do remember Elvis in the beginning.
