Nope...it does get hot though close to a 100 with humidity sometimes but not that often. You know to be honest WI is a gorgeous state with great changes in weather...fall is the best and Halloween time. Summer is great though too and always lots to do. You'd love it I bet...it's peaceful as well.

Spookymufu wrote:hey Midnite, did you see that move that was out not too long ago with Renee Zellweger where she goes to WI to run a factory for some big company?

Spooky...no...haven't seen many movies lately. Was it any good? I know the Johnny Depp movie about Dilinger was filmed here in WI...most of it in Columbus which isn't too far from Madison. I saw that movie and saw many parts of WI in that movie. Up north in Miinoqua area is where Al Capone's famed hideout is. It's a big cabin that he would use and escape to. The Northwoods area is incredible. If you ever get a chance do a search on Minoqua and the area...breathtaking views and lakes all over the place. Great family vacation spots as well.

the movie is called "New in Town", it's about a "big city girl" who is sent to a podunk little town in WI where the "hicks" are and the whole movie is about her learning to deal with the harsh winter (which is the funny part) and how middle America isnt as hillbilly and she thinks......and of course she falls in love with the head hick and blah blah blah. It's a chick flick but it was kind of funny.

Should we make T-Shirts like the "Where is Waldo" campaign?

Haven't seen that movie but will check it out...see if I know where that 'hick' area is...there are a lot of those out there but not like the south.

This does bring up something that I'm sure you and others have thought about; how to let your online 'death' be announced?

There's a company out there called Post Expression (https://www.postexpression.com/) that you pay $30.00 a year to store an 'I've passed on' email to be released after you die, to any accounts or email addresses that you choose.

You have to log in to your account on a regular basis to let it know you are still kicking, and if you don't, after a period of time the email goes out to your list announcing your demise.

Unfortunately the only link I can find doesn't work (at least not here at the office) so maybe the service is, well...dead.

It's a neat idea though.

funny you posted this.......before my dad died he used to play online card games everyday and he had a partner that he always played with. He talked about her fairly often. When he got real sick he couldnt play much then he passed away. I went online to his game and had to tell his "friends" that he wouldnt be playing any longer and why. I got an email from his partner a day later, big long letter expressing what my dads "company" meant to her. She sounded like a lonely old lady, I felt bad.......a letter like the one you posted would have been easier.

I think a service, while functional, is impersonal.

You wouldn't have known your dad's positive impact on someone else's life if the news of his passing were sent via robot.

There are many who will trumpet my passing with a parade and drinks, so I want the real story to get out in my own words before they get a chance 8)

meh, I suppose but so soon after my dad died, it was rough to read.
I have decided that when I cork, in the end, it only matters what my wife and kids think.....other then that, who cares.....unless I become President....;)
