Al Gore--ugh. He claims to be a Tennessean, and his family background is from this state, but he actually grew up around D.C. (because his daddy was a politician, too). Everyone recalls the disputed 2000 election and thinks the crisis was in Florida, but it wasn't. Gore needed exactly eleven electoral votes to win. Guess how many electoral votes Tennessee has? But he didn't win Tennessee. He lost that election because he lost his home state. It had nothing to do with Florida. Tennessee rejected him outright.

On that topic, did any see it reported what Keith Olbermann said on his new ESPN2 show on the first night? Quite stunning considering the source.

Couldn't get the video to play. Someone must not want me to see it. So much for long live the internet. Still prefer to get most of my news about the US from BBC and other overseas news sources. I find it interesting that CNN is barely covering the PRISM scandal. Why? Because they are owned by Time-Warner and Time-Warner is one of the companies purported to be supplying info about their customers to the government. What a tangle web. Illusion of choice in the media is no different than this.

The BBC. Really? You might as well watch MSNBC then. Both are as far left as can be, which means they are not at all objective. Or you could just watch Al Jazeera America, and get all your news straight from Hamas.

Wow. I don't remember saying I only listen to the BBC. Believe me I'm as removed from the far left as I am from the far right, I just like to know what both sides of the coin look like. And right now I consider coins made in America to be a little suspect.

I never said you couldn't watch or read the BBC or anything for that matter. Just be sure you understand their perspective and agenda.
