Driving down the road today, I saw a bright orange billboard through the trees. Bestill my heart! Could this be an early ad for Spirit? Alas, twas not to be, it was an ad for the gun show. But nonetheless, my heart sped up, and the sides of my mouth curled up at the thought that Halloween store hunting season is coming up. 112 days till Hallowe'en.

I must admit I got quite excited when I saw an email saying there has been a post in this thread. Alas the gun show billboard got me excited for nothing and we live across the country from each other...sigh

But it won't be long now. The 4th has come & gone, and our stores are filling up with back-to-school.

We are at the under 100 days mark! Anyone else starting to get pumped up? With the ongoing oppressive heat we have had here, fall cannot come soon enough. Jo-Ann Fabrics has all their fall stuff out already and Hauntworld has updated some of it's site for the 2016 season. WOOO

Heck yeah! I was in Big Lots the other day, and they had two full aisles of Halloween merchandise.

Wahoo! Spotted my first Spirit Store today. Didn't have time to stop and see when they are opening but it's a good start to the Halloween store hunting season.

Not exactly Halloween, but Bath and Body Works and Yankee Candle have begun to release their autumn collections. When I want an early genuinely Halloween experience I usually look at the catalogs from Grandin Road, Lillian Vernon, Miles Kimball, and the like.

I like looking at catalogs but I scarcely order anything out of them.

They're already selling Halloween candy at Dollar General, like the M&M's candy corn, and popcorn balls.

Our local Dollar General now has halloween decor and costume making supplies out, before it was just the candy and harvest decor. lol I got to love how it creeps out little by little over time. It'll probably still be a while before the other stores catch up, but I do know Dollar Tree is usually early with holiday items.

I just spotted the Taste of Home Halloween issue at Kroger's last night. I'll need to check my previous issues to see if it's really new.

I hate it when publishers regurgitate old content and label it as new. :(

I'm hoping Martha Stewart living has fresh ideas this year.

She sold the company last year, and is now Chief Creative Officer, and that should give them focus & incentive to come back with style...I'm hoping...
