Murfreesboro wrote:So, do Mormons not celebrate Halloween? We had next-door neighbors who were Mormon, back in the '90s. They were great neighbors, but they did have some peculiarities. For example, they told me Sunday was their "family day." I thought, how nice, they reserve one day just to spend with their own family, no other socializing. Then I realized that by "family," they meant the members of their church. They had lots of company that day, but no one who wasn't Mormon.

I never knew them to TOT, but I always figured they must be going somewhere else for it. I never knew what they were doing on Halloween night.
yeah, Mormons are like that, if you arent one of them they dont include you in certain things. I lived in SLC for 7yrs and Mormons are some of the nicest people, and they are big on Halloween, I havent lived anywhere that had more Halloween spirit then Salt Lake, they have many haunted houses and yard set up and Halloween stores. But I guess they dont like their neighbors having caskets in their garage :)

and on a side note, I have lived in S. Cal, Arizona, Utah, and Texas, and Utah had some of the best looking women anywhere I have lived.....Must be the mormon water.

Yes, after I asked that question I did a Google search on it. They do celebrate Halloween, just about like everybody else, only they maybe don't go in quite so much for the gory stuff, or the suggestive costumes.

They are really nice people, as you say.

well, I would argue over the suggestive costumes, those Mormon girls go wild when they can...
