Yes, that's strange! I hate ailments! I hate pain things into my body anywhere!

Cold weather sometimes gives me backneck pain, ankle pain, knee pain, left lower arm pain, etc. The doctor told me that I have artihris, you know? Well, the medicine is pretty expensive, so the doctor suggested me to stay indoors until the weather is good for me to go out! And also, the doctor adviced me to watch some foods that I eat anything that will cause arthiris.

If I remember correctly, arthitis patients are usualy advised to stay away from high concentrations of salt (sodium).

I'm not supposed to eat any processed sugars, and I a m supposed to go easy on salt and fat. It's hard, especialy at this time of the year, but so far I have lost 23 pounds.

Well, trick or treating isn't the only reason I think it's more geared toward children. They had special events for my primary school for Halloween when I was a kid, and my dad thinks of it as a childish holiday. Even know a lot of events around here seem to be geared toward children, and even haunted events often have a special section for younger kids, either a toned down fright or just something like a pumpkin patch. Numerous tv specials are even geared toward children, like the Spooky God Mother. I see your point about R rated movies, and Halloween has progressively become my top holiday. It's really a lot of fun, and it brings out my inner child.
Christmas on the other hand, makes me feel a little more grown up because it has taught me to enjoy giving more than recieving. I don't need little kids around to do that, I got a lot of joy as a kid going to the dollar store with my allowance to get a little something for different members of my family and my friends. It's a holiday that brings families together in giving, and a celebration of the birth of our savior. I get really excited to see someone opening a present I got them, even more than I do opening my own. Of course, I really enjoy the gifts I get though and I'm usually quite happy with them.
Christmas also has a lot of responsibility, especially if you're the one hosting the Christmas party you have to prepare all the food and trimmings. I usually like to help my mother out with some of these things.
And as pointed out in this thread, there's the Christmas wines. Of course, not to say there aren't any Halloween wines, but Halloween seems more geared toward candy which, is more of a children thing than Christmas is. Although Christmas has candy too.

But really...It shouldn't matter what the holiday is geared toward as long as you enjoy it. I can understand the stress of Christmas but I find enjoyment picking out presents, even if it is a difficult task trying to find something someone will like. The only thing I have a beef with Christmas really, is that it's overrated and overly commercialized.

i still love christmas :)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Well let me tell you something about Christmas... I am not really crazy over XMAS, and I really don't know what to tell. I have no reason to say why either.

And also, don't forget that there are some BAD SANTAS out there!

.
Don't care much for THAT holiday. Got some bad memories associated with it. Plus I just get so tired of the barrage of advertising. They're already showing commercials... before Halloween! Wait your turn!

I love Christmas but I don't love how Over Commercialized it is.
Yes, I do think they should wait until after Halloween to put out Christmas stuff and show christmas decorations.
But that doesn't mean I don't love it, and that's because it's a holiday that brings families together and gives me a chance to buy people things. I love to give. I love the food too.
Of course, I love Thanksgiving too. Christmas, like Andy put it, is like the yang to the Halloween yin. Or vice versa. Whichever, the point is, the holidays contrast so much which is probably why the Nightmare before Christmas was so popular...when Tim Burton attempted to combine the two holidays it was genius. And Danny Elfman's musical score made it awesome.

I don't hate Christmas, but as I stated before, it's far from being my favorite holiday. The reason for that, is that my non believing siblings have taken all of the meaning and TRADITION away from it, and I just can't stand what it's degenerated into.

I love the TRADITIONAL CHRISTmas celebrations that we use to have before we moved to acursed New Lenox, where all of our TRADITIONS were trashed in favor of cop-outs, laziness, apathy and modern junk philosophy.
