I watched V for Vendetta yesterday afternoon with my daughter, who'd never seen it. The movie came out in 2005, but as she watched she started giving me sidelong glances. At one point she said. "I feel as if someone saw this movie and started taking notes." There are certainly aspects of it that seem prescient regarding intervening political events. She was interested in the theme of the manipulation of collective memory (her words, as well as I can recall).

I've been meaning to get back to this, but it's been busy lately.
That's funny, about not wanting to say Hell House.
I remember when I was younger and we used to go to church every week we knew a older religious woman that was so serious about not swearing or saying Hell that she would always say H-E-double hockey sticks instead of using the word Hell.

I still know a guy from high school that's 2 years older than me and he still won't ever say the word Hell, he always says heck instead, even when we are discussing horror movies like Hellraiser, he calls it Heckraiser because he, like some people around here, are still afraid to say the word Hell because they were raised to fear the word.

I watched V for Vendetta when it came out, and I do remember that I liked it, so I should probably watch it again.

Also, we are definitely going to the theater to watch Wicked when it comes out, I've been waiting for that movie for awhile, and I hope it's actually good.
