There is hardly any gore at all to be seen in the first TCM 1974. Many who have not ever see it assume it is full of gore and violence but that is not true. All of them except the original have a lot of gore, but the first 1974 version is all atmosphere. You would probably like it.

I saw the original "Texas Chainsaw Massechre," but I didn't bother with 3D. I heard it was just a simple remake only done in 3D instead of 2D, and the newer 3D technology doesn't work too well with my eye sight.

I'm not seeing 3-D effects very well these days, either, thanks to a problem I recently developed in my left eye. However, I never really liked them, anyway. To me they seemed unnecessary to a good story, and simply an excuse to jack up the price on an otherwise poor one.

Jadewik and Murf, you really didn't miss very much. I saw the original "Texas Chainsaw Massechre," and it was very gory, but not much of a story. There were a lot of stereotypes about "hillbillies," and insanity, and the like as well.
