Use Mozilla Firefox browser and add the pop-up blocker.

Or do you mean commercials on a Kindle? I don't have a 'reader' I like books.
Ads on the telly for the Kindle. I don't own one, and wouldn't. The whole point of a book is kinda that you don't need batteries.

Here's another one that bothers me, which I can't believe I forgot to mention -- those choco-gasm ads, like Dove, "My moment ... my Dove," where the women appear to be experiencing an erotic, orgasmic experience upon consuming chocolate! Then there are the ads for Warm Delights -- a single-serving, microwavable chocolate dessert. These chicks seem to be expriencing such extreme levels of pleasure while eating it. One is sensually licking the chocolate off the spoon, while another is laying in bed while eating it. I love chocolate and if I reach the point in my life where I'm either about to be executed on death row or am on my death bed, I want to go out of this world eating chocolate, but jeez, Louise, eating chocolate is nothing like the way it's portrayed in commercials.

I'm talking about the ads at the bottom of the video, not pop-up windows.

In the Pittsburgh area, there was a lawyer named Edgar Snyder. I don't know if he's still around, but we called him Edgar Shyster.

My pet peve about that is when I'm watching a documentery and they are interviewing some one who doesn't speak English, and they have sub titles, and they cover up part of the sub title for that advertisment.

Just a few days ago, I was watching a very interesting documentery about Hitler, and on at least 4 ocassions, they put an ad right over the sub title.

Oh boy, that drives me nuts too!!

What gets me about cable or satellite TV is you pay a lot for the service and all they do is bombard you with commercials all over the place.

When services like HBO and showtime first came out the idea was that you paid to watch stuff without freakin' commercials.

Right on, Andy. I pay over 100 bucks a month. Granted that does also include telephone and internet, but I still think that if I have to pay for tv, it should be comercial free.

SNL had a skit wherein a TV news announcer was completely obliterated by scrolling tickers and other annoying graphics by the end of the news.

I fear that something similar is coming soon to the real world. :(

Don't forget those cardboard postcards things that fall out of 'em too.

First thing I do when I pick up a magazine is hold it open edge down over a trash can and flip through it to make 'em fall out.
