I shuffled through Safeway this morning and stumbled upon a new display, half hidden in the cheese aisle for some reason.

I picked up a handful of new magazines and a Beanie Baby JOL.

That was a fun find Andy! I would love to thumb through all of them, but especially the Fall Getaway - I could really use one of those! :D

Last year was the first time I had done a graveyard. I was a little disappointed because I didn't add enough lighting to it and some of the tombstones were hard to see in the darkness.

I went to the Dollar Tree and got a bunch of these:

They have a very bright LED bulb and are attacked to a clamp via a ball and socket joint... this makes them extremely versatile. Here's one close up bent upwards:

And here is one illuminating one of my gravestones in my pitch black room:

Lastly, I picked up some bloody butcher's organs! I'm planning on making a display platter with these and some of the severed limbs I bought earlier...

joossa, those lights are great, wish they would have been out last year instead of the lights I bought. How long do they last on those batteries?

I think I'm going back to get more of these tomorrow after I visit Spirit. The more I mess around with them the more ideas I get on how to use them. :D

The back of the package says:
"Battery life time is approximately one year if it is stored at 22C and 70% humidity or less."

yeah but you're going to run them for several hours a day up to Halloween, I wonder how long they will last turned on and ran like that, the ones I bought last year ran on 3 AAA batteries and lasted two nights and then had to be replaced :(

Leds should run a long time on not much battery. Where did you get them.

I bought LED flashlights with 9 LEDs that takes 3 AAA batteries and mounted them to stands and staked them into the ground, running them for about 4hrs each night, they lasted 2 days before they were too dim and needed new batteries. $4 for 2 at Home Depot last year, but when they were on they worked great, but those other ones just look like they would work better.

Demonic Duck, I got them at my local Dollar Tree.

Spookymufu, they also had those mini flash lights as well for a buck. In addition, that had two different types of book lights with long bendable shafts (all with LED lights). All of these required the 3 AAA batteries, but did not have them included. The ones I bought reacquire three small watch batteries, but were included with the lights (as pictured).

right but my original question, how long can you run them before they need new batteries?

and how many LEDs do they have in the head?

Are they water-proof? We get a lot of fog around here and I'm notoriously lazy, if they can't stay out 24/7, they'd be a lost cause.

I got this today!

It's about 2' tall, 6" deep, and made from aluminum with a baked on copper paint finish.

Got me a skull at Big Lots. It was too expensive, but it looks really good. Pictures soon.
