Night of the Living Dead, Best Ever (1968)

Post by iHaunt » Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:48 am

I was thinking there would be a lot more members of a horror website, oh, well, don't need quantity for a good debate or discussion. As the subject states, the original "Night Of The Living Dead" is by far the best horror movie ever, hands down. Guess I will just wait for your reply and hopefully a counterpoint. I will leave you with this, what is scarier than having to choose to put a bullet in your child's dead head or letting them eat you alive?? :?

I agree! It's one of my favorites and is up there with Carpenter's Halloween. The remake was also really good.

It's sad when you look at Romero's first zombie movie compared to his most recent. You're supposed to improve with age, aren't you?? Right Andy??

I finally saw Romeros "The Crazies"....what a POS. If I didnt know what it was supposed to be about I wouldnt have understood what was going on, I guess acting crazy in 1973 was a lot different then what we would consider crazy now because everyone just seemed angry not crazy....I have to say, the remake was better.

Ok, what about NOTLD remake in 1990 with Tony Todd in it? I think it was okay, but not really good. I prefer the original classic one! :D

And, NOTLD 3D with Sid Haig in it? I think it was good movie because I actually do like Sid aka Captain Spaulding, the clown in "House of 1000 Corpses". He has been played in so many movies back in the early 1970s.

I thought the 1990 remake of NOTLD (by Tom Savini) was just as excellent and enjoyable. Although both were slightly different with their end of the movie message, each were done really well.

Some people don't know, but Savini had to severely edit out the gore in a lot of scenes. However, back in the day, director's cuts and unrated editions weren't exactly the staples as they are today, so an unrated/uncut version has never been released (as far as I know). Some of the scenes are included in the short documentary on the DVD though... the stuff is really incredible!

I'm 16 and I love the 1968 NOTLD, I haven't seen any of the other versions but I do love this original classic.

I love Dawn of the Dead too, despised Day of the Dead's characters, really enjoyed Land of the Dead but I've yet to see Diary or Survival of the Dead. :)
