I say the candy bag is half full, you say it's half empty. Meh.

I'm going hunting for Halloween stuff tomorrow. I'll report back my findings.

We expect a field report every 30 minutes.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Dollar Tree had more Halloween stuff out. Some miniature skulls, some crows, and even some fake body parts, which consisted of some severed limbs, a brain, a liver and a heart. There were also some bigger skulls. Not much selection yet, but I couldn't resist getting a couple of those crows and a bag of those miniature skulls.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I bought a Newt Gingrich mask off of Ebay for seven bucks with shipping, so I guess that technically counts as my first Halloween purchase of the year..... :)

FIELD REPORT 8-12-2010
LOCATION: WASTEMINSTER, MARYLAND, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
TEMPERATURE: 87°
HUMIDITY: ABNORMALLY HIGH
BREAKFAST: CHEERIOS
THIRD FAVORITE COLOR: GREEN
OPINION ON LLAMAS: THEY'RE NOT BAD

_________________________________________________________________________

Big Lots: Still clearing out the gardening stuff, but they did have an aisle of fall decorations, and an aisle of Halloween stuff. Same stuff as last year so far; I do like the three talking skulls.

Target: Nothing.

Walmart: Nothing.

Factory Card and Party Outlet: They've had a section at the back of the store where they never cleared out the Halloween stuff, so that was still there.... Mostly cheap masks and some hats. But they were also setting up an empty aisle where the Halloween stuff will go, so I'll check back in a week or two.

Michael's: Jackpot!!! Halloween stuff is out... I liked the little unfinished wooden coffins (I'm thinking a dark walnut stain and a picture cut to size inside might make great Crimbo gifts for the extended family this year!!), and I saw Andy's miniatures, including his pumpkin store one. And I couldn't resist a few wee tombstones to cheer up my computer desk:

They're about four inches tall, and only two bucks a piece!

Since my Newt mask hasn't arrived yet, I'm calling these my first Halloween pick-up of the year! :o

Nothing further to report.

Or the badgering.

Did you choose the unfinished coffins that laugh when opened? I got me 2 of those and one 'regular'.

I liked the laughing ones, but for a couple of bucks extra they weren't really worth it.

I'm going to take them apart and use the noise-maker elsewhere.

Inside a medicine cabinet or someone's desk drawer at work.
