Halloween treat in summer!!

Post by listeningeyes » Sat Jul 10, 2010 3:43 pm

Hey everyone!! I hope its okay that I made a new topic here because I wasnt sure where to put it but you can delete it if you need to,I wont be offended, lol.

Today my son and I were in the kitchen making banana smoothies and when I was making mine we decided to try a few different things and it turned out AMAZING in our opinion,so I wanted to share it with you all because it "tasted like Halloween" but it was very cool and refreshing for the summer!! okay its really simple.you need:
A blender, ice, bananas(fresh or frozen),vanilla extract, cinnamon, honey, and milk (we used whole milk but it doesnt matter).
then you mix all that up,pour it into a halloween cup and top it with whipcream and pumpkin spice powder and halloween sprinkles!! MMMMMmmm!!! IT ROCKED!!!
You don't even know the danger you're facing
If I'm quiet, I'll slide up behind you
And if you hear me I'll enjoy trying to find you

That sounds yummy!

I have an icecream recipe for you to try too.
You need an icecream maker for this. It sounds wierd, but it will be the only recipe you will use from now on.

1 large container of Cool whip. Use the reas stuff. The low fat stuff doesn't work as well.
1 can of sweetend condensed milk. (Also use real stuff. No low fat)

Now use any liquid you want! About 1/2 gal.
For a pumpkin treat, Use canned pumpkin pie mix and egg nog. MMMMM!

We've also made it with:
Orange Crush soda (5 cans)
Chocolate milk
Code Red Mtn Dew (very good)
Pina Colada mix

You can add anything!! It is so easy and only takes about an hour.
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright,
Oggie Boogie

This is great, everyone needs to post something. My mom made pumpkin pudding when I was little. I will find the recipe. I know it sounds weird but it's so tasty
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!

Prior to Gastric Bypass, I would have loved that, but now I don't know. The combination of milk and sugar would give me 'dumping syndrome.'

Actualy, no it's not exactly. I won't go in to any disgusting details, but here is a nut-shell explanation. Dumping Syndrome is a medical condition common to Gastric Bypass patients that is caused by consumption of too much processed sugar. In mild cases, you feel hot, you start to sweat, you feel nausiated and it can lst anywhere's from 20 minutes to 3 hours. Vomiting and Direah are common in only the most extreme cases. I had a really horible episode of Dumping Syndrome when I had a malt at Dairy Queen. It only lasted 20 minutes, but those were the longest 20 minutes of my life. It was 50 degrees out, and I was sweating like it was 120. I felt like I had to vomit, and wretched, but my stomach was totaly empty.

For some reason, I am not as seceptable to DS as most Gastric Bypass patients are. I can usualy get away with Oreo cookies, candy bars and other things, but mix processed sugar with dairy, such as a milk shak or ice cream, FORGET IT. I don't EVEN LIKE ice cream any more.

Sorry Witchy, I hope I didn't get too graphic.

It's not as "messy," but it is VERY HORIBLE to go through. Take it from a guy who knows. Dumping Syndrome is no fun. Luckily it only lasted 20 minutes. If it lasted much longer, it would probably drive me to drug use.
