It seemed to me that SpiritHalloween had a pretty thin skin. I wasn't going to argue or ask him to stay. He asked to be deleted, and so I deleted him. Easier that way.

I agree with you completely. I respect your authority. I defer to your wisdom. I submit to your declaration. It's just that when someone tries to shorten my Halloweenmonth, my toes curl, my nose-hairs grow, my teeth gnash and my blood boils. As surely as the moon controls the tide, the yeast makes the bread rise, the spider eats the fly, and the rose in bloom must one day die, the mucking about with Halloweenmonth makes MacPhantom one very unhappy chappie!!!
