NeverMore I wish we could trade hours, I would work nights, I am not a morning person!! I use to work third shift a long time ago & loved it!! My husband hated it!!! That's why I work during the day now, he was such a crab then!!!

Then I'm certainly not the person you want to meet first thing in the morning!

I love waking before sunrise and puttering around the house, drinking coffee, listening to the news and feeding the cat.

I'm one big ray of sunshine by the time I get to the office, but for some reason everyone avoids me until noon. :D

I am pretty much like that myself, Andy.
I'm so used to being up early, that I'm ready to start the day by 5:30 or 6.
I love to run as the sun is coming up.

My head hits the pillow no later than 9PM.

I need daylight to keep me alive.

Oh now that isn't me! I'm a late-nighter.

I cast no aspersions. Some of my best friends are night owls. :)

I have read that diets high in fiber and non-animal protein cause people to require less sleep...plus all the noise....

Yes sometimes a late siesta.
But I'm in bed usually by midnight. So not too late.

its weird for me.. the less sleep i get the easier i wake up.. any one else like that? anyone else know why this may be?

i do usually try to get in the bed around 12ish or 1..
i get up at about 7:30
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I don't think it's as much to do with how much you sleep in total, but rather when in your sleep cycle you wake up. I think most people have a sleep cycle of approximately an hour and a half, where you start by drifting off into light sleep, close to consciousness, then descend into a deeper sleep state, and then back up again. If you wake up in one of the stages closer to consciousness, you tend to feel less tired than if you are awoken out of the deepest state. During the course of the night, you sink down and come back up several times, getting the most refreshing sleep in the deeper stages, but feeling the most refreshed when awaking from a shallower stage. Thus, if you time your waking right, you can feel better with three hours of sleep than seven.
