Here is a fun link to the trailer for a creepy Sunn Classics "documentary" called "The Amazing World of Psychic Phenomena"...this I saw on TV in the 70's, and it REALLY creeped me out! Turns out this trailer has a couple of moments from the scariest scenes!

Oh yes, thanks for that link--I have the book of "The Mysterious Monsters," I found it in a used bookstore in Big Bear in 1995...I haven't seen that film in probably 30 years too! But that one was just as scary. Sunn Classic Pictures made some really creepy docu-movies back then. Seeing this stuff now, it's easy to see how they "spiced up" their movies with sound effects and assorted hokum, but it's still effective...

The pilot episode of a failed TV show called "Manson."

Just kidding. It's a sketch from the brilliant "Ben Stiller Show" which aired in '92.

Laurie stares at the station wagon as it moves past. She looks directly at The Shape inside. There is a quick glimpse of him, a strange pale face staring back.

And not only that--now here, here, here, here, here is something cool. A little animated HALLOWEEN cartoon that I never saw before. Someone brought this to my attention and I checked it out and I really like it!

I have run out of links for the moment! So I am looking about for little tidbits. Here's one...not technically a Halloween movie, but certainly a type of horror film. It's very odd, and few people have seen it, and that's why you should know about "The Legend of Hillbilly John." I used to have a copy of this but I sold it on Ebay, and have had a hankering to get another. This review here strays over to the critical side, figuring its purpose it to caution you; but it is a good honest assessment of the film. Take a look:

This is from tomanderson's "Scary Records" thread. I hijacked it because it inspired the following link. Read what tom has to say and the click on the link.
"I am totally sure there was another thread like this but I don't remember what it was called. Maybe you can tell us a little about some scary records you know. Speaking from my own experience, I don't know of anything current, but I remember a lot of spooky Halloween records from the 70's. I even have a couple of records I bought on Ebay, things I used to have when I was a little kid.
Two major categories are: A. Spooky stories and B. Spooky sound effects. Some records are a combination of A and B. Sound effects will set up an atmosphere that gets your imagination working--they create mood and tone. And stories will lay the whole scene out for you, characters and all. I like stuff in these two categories a lot.
Then there is another category, C. Spooky Songs. I'm not as much a fan of category C because frankly, I think most Halloween type songs have trouble being really spooky. They often end up being silly.
Disney's "Thrilling, Chilling Sounds of the Haunted House" (late 60's) was a very popular album I remember MANY MANY people having. And Pickwick Records' "Sounds To Make You Shiver" was very popular in the 70's, partly because it had very attractive, lively cover artwork. I think a lot of people bought this because the album cover was so colorful. You can find both these records on Ebay..."

I have a few of the records listed on this link:
Alfred Hitchcock presents Ghost Stories For Young People
Great Ghost Stories
Haunted House Music Co. (the first one)
Selections from The Haunted House and Other Spooky Poems and Tales
Sounds To Make You Shiver! Bloodcurdling! Terror! Horror!
Famous Ghost Stories With Scary Sounds
Sounds of Terror!
Chilling Thrilling Sounds Of The Haunted House
The Story And Song From The Haunted Mansion
Trick Or Treat (with Donald Duck)
I have 2 copies of The Story And Song From The Haunted Mansion. One my sister got for me on eBay (and apparently paid about $110 for), the other I found in Portland for $1.50. Crazy frightening!
