Has anyone seen this new television series based off the original Mini series: V?
So far I think it's great! I know some of you are Sci Fi enthusiasts so I thought I would bring up this topic for discussion.
V is about an alien race who appears human and claims "We are of peace, always" which is a quote by their leader, "Anna." But is that their true intent? Or do they secretly have an agenda. The visitors, or Vs want to paint themselves as a very peaceful and intelligent race who wishes to share their technological and medical advances with mankind.
But the reality is, they're actually reptalian creatures who use cloned human flesh around their bodies to disguise themselves, and plan to kill off the human race.
It's based off the Mini series made back in the 80s, so if anyone's seen the original they would probably like this series as well. I havn't seen the original though so I couldn't say.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I watched the first two episodes last week, haven't watched this week's yet. It was pretty
good! A lot like Battlestar G. It was different enough from the original series to make it
worth watching, yet it retained enough of the storyline to give it some connection.

And the blonde chick is smokin!

I like it, but I like the original much better.

That's how I felt about Battlestar G. I watched the first 5 or 6 episodes and stopped
watching cuz at the time I kept comparing it to the original. It wasn't until the last season
come out on DVD that I really started watching it and now that I've gotten used to the
characters I really like it. Same thing happened to me with Star Trek: Next Gen. I couldn't
get over the fact that it was too different from the original but once I got used to the
characters, and Riker grew his beard, I really liked it.

I have never been a huge Star Trek fan, but I did like The Next Generation. Riker was a good character.
The same with B.G.

Isn't that Marc Singer in "V"? If so, I believe I've seen it when I was kid, and really can't remember everything in it. So I have to rent and see it again.

BTW, don't forget to watch Marc Singer in "The Beastmaster" with Tanya Roberts. ;)

Yeah, that was Marc Singer in the original series. They showed the original mini-series and
the first series on SyFy before the new series began.

So far I think it's a great series. I never saw the original, but then again I guess I'm odd because there aren't a lot of old series I really get into. I guess it's because I'm so used to CGi and whatnot that things like plastic halloween masks on an alien or a monster just make it seem way too cheesy.
This series though has a great plot, and I think it's even movie quality.
I hope that there will be more than four episodes, but I read they're gonna wait to aire more until after the Winter Olympics or something.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,

Oh it figures! We get into something and they yank it for the Olympics!

According to the forums at ABC.com...V has begun production on the new episodes on January 4th and ABC is supposed to aire new episodes in March.
It's quite a long wait, but I'm excited to see what happens next.
In the mean time, has anyone seen the old V from the 80s? I looked it up and I think it looks awful cheesy compared to the new one. Now, does anyone know where I can see the original V? I don't know if I'll like it or not but I could at least give it a shot since that was the original.

If you have a decent 'net connection, it looks like someone has posted 'V' over on Hulu.

I haven't seen the new version, but I vaguely remember liking the original when I was wee. I'm pretty sure I still have the lizard-headed action figure somewhere in the basement.
