OctoberChill wrote:Sure thing. I'll post some more tonight. We're going back to Salem today for the Haunted Happenings cruise. It's an hour long cruise where they tell us some ghost and pirate stories from the area.

I was doing some research last night and found out where some scenes of Hocus Pocus were filmed. I'm gonna find em today :) Turns out we walked right past the house that was used for the exterior of Alison's house in the movie. I also roughly figured out where the Denison's house was so I'm going to look for it and annoy the owners by taking pics in front of it.
That is super cool...love to see all those places and even though Hocus Pocus is a Disney movie I loved it and thought it added to the charm of the Salem and Witch stories in that area. Please do post more pcis when you can.

The Devil's house I'm not sure about. I had forgotten about that one! Yeah there's a lot of Halloween decorations. It's not every house but the houses that do are REALLY decorated. And tastefully done at that. We had the chance to venture outside of the main part of town on Friday. The neighborhoods are sooo beautiful. Watch the scene in Hocus Pocus when he's riding his bike through town. I haven't really found an area of town that doesn't look like that.

I would LOVE to live in Salem Mass. If I won the Illinois LOTTO, or the "Power Ball" LOTTO, I would move there tomorrow, BUT ONLY if there was one of those really old houses available for sale. I will NOT live in one of those untraditional "modernistic" places with the attached garage, subdivision and no side walks. And I would rather have my apendix taken out then live in a condominium or a town home.

HAHAHAHAHA that movie is fantastic

"you shouldn't talk to master that way!"
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Love, love, LOVE the photos! You got a lot that I didn't get when I was there in 2005... I like how you took photos of the shops too... the only shop I took a photo of was "The Bunghole" liquor store by that ship in the bay near the House of the Seven Gables... and that was because I was feeling extra silly...

A bunghole, pre-Beavis & Butthead, is the hole in a barrel you put a tap or faucet into to draw out the lovely wine or whisky contained therein.

Ha yeah we saw the Bunghole on the way to seven gables too. I have to admit, the House of the Seven Gables was one of the most fun things we did. The grounds it was on were gorgeous. The house itself was cool. Loved the hidden staircase behind the fireplace that led to the room in the attic. A plus sized dude kinda got stuck and had to go down and come up the alternate staircase.

We took a cruise and saw all these houses on the coast. How awesome, and expensive, it would be to live there
