I'm in Salem as we speak. I'm soo exhausted. It's been a long day. I swear it's gonna take at least 3 days to see everything. There's so much to do here. The town is beautiful.

These people cannot drive though! I swear to God we got honked at for STOPPING at a RED light. They seriously see stop signs and red lights as merely a suggestion. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. It ruined an otherwise great day. But tomorrow is all walking for us though so hopefully no more road rage. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Sleepy time for me now.

Heck, I'm the same way. I see a car with an out of state license I honk at them, tailgate em, make funny faces. Moon them? Just to screw with them. Don't take it personal. Just keep in mind, if you're driving around gawking at stuff and a car comes up behind you, pull over and let them pass. That way they can go on with their business and you don't miss nada.

Have a good time, and bring us back some pictures.

Oh yeah.... don't light the black flame candle!

Well by that logic everyone in Boston is a tourist then cause they all honk at eachother. We didn't have an out of state license plate nor were we driving slow. It's just how it is up here. That was just in Boston though. Salem isn't bad at all. BUT I'm over that. Old news. I had an awesome time last night! We almost froze but it was great. My Texas rear end isn't used to 30 degrees in October.

The people in Salem have been great so far. We went on this candlelit walk last night with a local historian. He took us to all the witch trial locations and told us just about everything there is to know about the trials. Aside from Halloween/witch trials it really is a beautiful town. The houses are like nothing I've ever seen. Today we're going to do some waterfront stuff. Should be fun. Cold, but fun.

Man if I see the black flame candle I'm totally lighting it!

Oh yeah the historian that led our tour said he's going to be on the Today show on Saturday. (I wasn't aware it was on on Saturdays) but it might be cool to watch. He knows his stuff. I believe his name was either Jim or John McAlister. They're doing a witch trials spot for Halloween.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I really hope to do this someday...would love to see all the old colonial houses and the atmosphere in Salem and be surrounded by all that creepiness and charm.

Well-said, creepiness and charm.

I doubt I would get much sleep if I went there...I would want to prowl around at night

That line you just said reminded me of that line from "Jaws"
"It's in the yahd by the cah."
Okay back to regular programming. Don't mind me, I get tangentially-challenged.

The accent is great. It's hit or miss though. They either have no accent at all, or a really really strong one. We've met a lot of VERY cool people. Both local and from everywhere else. A lot of Germans here for some reason. And emo kids.

I sat in a bar tonight talking to a Mexican dude from Boston. You want to talk about strange accents?
