I'm afraid my cat doesn't have much time left

Post by OctoberChill » Thu Oct 08, 2009 9:05 pm

I know I was talking to a couple of you in chat about my cat last Friday night. She was very sick, vomiting and diarrhea. We took her to the vet who treated her and gave us some medicine to give her. We took her back to an emergency clinic tonight because she hasn't gotten better. They think it's most likely intestinal cancer.

They're keeping her for a while, but the vet said most likely she's going to have be euthanized. I can't even explain how much this hurts. She doesn't deserve this. I can't imagine having to be in there when they do it. I've had her 5 years. She slept with us every night. No matter what you did to her as long as you rubbed her head afterwards she'd love you forever. I just can't bear to see her suffer and slowly die.

Just please pray for her tonight. And if the worst happens, just please pray that it's painless. Her name is Celly.

Oh I am sorry to hear that.
It's so hard to lose a pet you are so close to. And for such a senseless thing.
I'll definitely keep you and your sweet Celly in my thoughts.

Ride easy, friend.

I am so sorry! I know a pet is like a human loved one. You want them to not suffer. I have you and Celly in my prayers.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Some people just don't understand how hard it is losing a pet. It feels like a losing a family member or very close friend, it is devastating. I'm so sorry to hear about Celly, she is a beautiful cat and rest assured if she goes then she will have no longer be in pain and she will be enjoying all the cat nip she can get her paws on in kitty heaven. I lost my dog, who i literally grew up with almost a year ago. She was 15 years old when we had to euthanize her and i was in the room with her till the very end. I know you feel bad right now, but understand that time heals all and you will come through.

Your family and Celly are in my prayers,

MF

I'm very sorry to hear that. I know that a pet can be as much a member of the family as any human, and it's hard when they're about to die. I remember how I cried when I was 10 years old, and my cat was hit by a car.

OctoberChill, I'm so sorry about your precious Celly. What a beautiful, sweet cat! I have a cat, too -- her name is Tiger and she's six years old. It's so heartbreaking what we go through with our pets because they aren't just pets -- they're members of our family and are our friends. We love them so much and it's painful beyond words to see them suffer. I've had other pets before Tiger and it's very hard. She's very healthy now, but I know when that day comes for her it's going to tear me apart. I try to enjoy her while she's here. If you need to "talk," you can PM me.

Susan

I can relate and I feel your pain. Our poor little pooch doesn't have much time left either. He's suffering from a heart murmur and an enlarged heart at the same time. I'm almost afraid to go to work tomorrow. I think I might call in sick.

I brought him home earlier from the vet and he could barely make it up our 5 front stairs.

Oh Pumpkin, I'm so sorry about your baby :( They really are part of the family aren't they? Things like this tear your heart out.

Thinking of you.
