Here are the last 2 pictures that I planned to put on this forum. I had a lot of fun traveling to Bartonville Illinois to shoot these photos. I actualy shot over 100, but I don't want to take up too much space on this forum.
Now other then that profound sense of sadness I wrote about in one of the captions in the previous post, I did not experience any apperitions. I heard no rattling chains or saw no faces in the windows, or heard any screams or moans, but as I stated in answer to other threads, insane asylums are prime realestate for hauntings, because of their very nature. The infamous institution beinf featured in these posts is no exception. No matter how good the doctors or nurses are, there will allways be a sadist. Additionaly, many people who did not belong there were wearhoused for many years, and languished there for their entire lives. So if you should happen by the Bartonville Insane Asylum, don't be suprised if you do hear a scream, or a moan, or see a ghost staring blankly out one of those broken out windows.

Part 3 Bartonville Insane Asylum

- Here's a closer look at those windows. I don't know which window this girl was seen at, but just about any of these could be it. I would not be s uprised if a lot of sad, abused psych patients stared blankly at the streets below, languishing and longing to get out of there.

- Many who drive by the old Bartonville Insane Asylum claim they can see the ghost of a little girl, staring out the window. Rumor has it that the girl was comitted at a very young age, and resided there all of her life until her death at 73.

- Here is a door way leading ri ght into the basement. The basement, in any insane asylum was often the scene of rape, beatings, torture and other horrid attrocities, where patients were shackled to the walls for hours on end.

no spirits? that's fine.. i bet you still had a blast!! and i bet you took the bike
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Well You're half right. I had a real blast, and I am planning another haunted trip for next Saturday, but when I got up last Saturday morning, it was very cold, and the sky was overcast and I just could not tell if it was going to rain or not, so I took the car instead. As it turned out, it did drizzle a little tiny bit on the way home, but it only lasted about a minute, and it was a very light drizzle.
I do plan to take the bike next Saturday when I photograph either the Bachelors Grove Cemetery or the St. James Sag cemetery. Both are perported to be haunted, but the Sag might be safer from police, being that both my parents and a lot of my ancestors are buried there and I have a legal right to visit there.
Again, if all goes well, I will post pics of that Halloween adventure, too.
