Nicely nicely! Was that half-inch plywood you used on your coffin, or three-quarter inch? And how heavy did it come out? Can one person move it around easily?

Hey Halloween_crazyy, is your avatar from the musical "Wicked"? I've heard lots of good things about the show, but haven't had a chance to see it yet. I'm a total POTO nut (not the movie, please. PLEASE, not the movie. Uggghhh. Gerry Butler? UGGHHHH!!)

Wow, Special Ed... Shanda, you are the bravest of the brave! Mummy taught elementary Special Ed for a number of years, but the bureaucracy and paperwork drove her back to Standard Ed. And I love your giant mousetrap idea! I may have to steal it! :wink:

I can make stuff out of paper, but most of my decorations are store bought.
Part of that is because I don't have the time, money or skills to make anything big.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

the only way to get good is to keep truckin you know? that's how i learned (self taught)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Amen to that, Adrian!

When I was turned twelve years old, I got a tool box for my birthday. I got a set of screw-drivers, a hammer, some wood chisels, a tape measure, a corded drill and a hand-held jigsaw. My birthday is in August, so I wasn't back at school yet and wanted to build something. We had some pine shelf boards in the basement, so my brother and I set to work cutting them in half, rounding the tops, and carving them into tombstones. That October was the first year I put up a graveyard, and every year since, those thirteen wooden tombstones are the first thing I put up on Halloweenmonthday. My collection of tools, like my graveyard, has of course greatly expanded over the years (every new home improvement project is an excuse to buy more tools!!), and so have my building skills (my ratio of hammered nails to hammered thumbs is greatly improved). But the more you do, the better you get. So always do more! Never learn the meaning of the word "overboard"!!! You flat out CAN NOT have too many Halloween decorations!!

It's not just that I don't have the skills, I just don't have the time. Or the money to buy those materials.
I like making stuff out of construction paper though ^^;
I did paint some rocks last year though.

Build it, build it, build it...if it can be built or made, do it yourself,lolololol Right now I am working on 5 different projects--have to keep busy while paint/ latex is drying ya know??
1st one is my cemetery fence...I'm totally re-doing from the past years
2nd a grave breaker--wanted to buy one but too many $'s
3rd an electric chair
4th making my pillars taller and with lights this year./also new cemetery sign
5th FCG......this one is the biggest pain, can't find the right motor, looks like i have to order one.
forgot to add making giant hands and also hands out of latex for the monsters I hopefully get made. oh year making more tombstones out of foam instead of wood this year.
Looking to make a cacoon person, and zombie.

I did buy soome skeletons from Walgreens yesterday for the ground....
