Favorite Chips to Eat

Post by adrian » Tue Sep 15, 2009 3:44 pm

i'm at a delima with the Ms. we're going shopping this weekend and are debating which brand of Salt and Vinegar chips are best. so i told her i'd ask you guys hahahahaha.

but now i'm just asking in general.. what are your favorite kind of chips and the brands you like that flavor in?

please help us in this delima. or our shopping mission will be an utter failure!
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame

....
Does Sun Chips make a Salt & Vinegar flavor? Sun Chips are about all I eat. I prefer the Cheddar and French Onion. The cinnamon flavored ones were good but I haven't seen those in a while.

Kettle brand Salt and Vinegar are the best, I believe. Ruffles and/or Lays were a little too "soggy" but the kettle ones are nice and crispy.

... but I think that's a local company.... so...

I still like the Sour Cream and Onion Ruffles or the Chedder Chese and Sour Cream Ruffles. They also use to make extra thick chips, but I have not been able to find them at my local grocery store.

Pringles are okay, but they're too thin and it seems they use mashed potatos to make them. I like the chips that are cut right from the potato. Like I said, Ruffles are my favorite. An extra thick cut.

....
There's a hotdog joint here called "Chicago on a Bun" that makes potato chips as you order them. They slice them up right there and I think they do some kind of hot air process to cook them. They come out light and crispy without a hint of oil. You choose the seasoning and how much salt. Hmmmm.... think I'm gonna stop in next time I'm in that part of town.
