Wegmans, a local grocery store has Halloween candy and cake mixes/frosting from Pillsberry.
I bought a cute "Happy Halloween" sign from Dollar General today, it has a cat but the cat has this Jack 'o' lantern face on it, giving it a cute and creepy look to it.

That's very cool! 8)

I am going to buy some cake mixes by Pillsbury. :D

our KROGER just put theirs out :) i got some black lights
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

So far I bought some stuff at Michaels, an unfinished wooden haunted house which I'm painting and an unfinished wooden coffin. Also I picked up the Better Homes and Gardens Halloween issue. I will be making the scull and bones pillow as well as the picture mirror.

Yay! Love Halloween crafts time.
Backward, turn backward,
O Time, in your flight
make me a child again
just for to-night!

That is ridiculous, but I'm sure you'll begin to see things appear very soon. I was in Vancouver about 3 weeks to a month ago on vacation. It's a very beautiful city.

I saw some Halloween paper plates and napkins at my local grocery store last night. Then just for fun, I went and looked at a Harley Davidson some one had for sale out in front of his house. When I knocked on the door to inquire about it, I was greeted by a guy who had a string of pumpkin lights in his hand. "Just gettign ready for Halloween" he said.

The bike rode like a dream, but he wanted too much money for it.

Just spotted my first Spirit Store in San Diego, in the plaza across from the sports arena, next door to Target. I think that's where the Mervins was. Not open yet, they're still stocking it.

That's another of my favorite things to do at this time of year... Spirit Spotting. We usually get 6 or 7 stores and I get a kick out of finding them before they're advertised. It used to be easier because there weren't that many empty buildings around here so I had some idea of where they'd be located. But... these are different times... plenty of empty buildings. I could imagine they'll try different neighborhoods, try to pick up new customers.

Now I've spotted some stuff in Vancouver! I was in Winners yesterday with my mom and they have TONS of Halloween stuff out, including costumes! I, unfortunately, didn't bring any money with me :( But I'll be going back tomorrow after work. It was very exciting to see it all! Halloween makes me so giddy! Now, if only the weather would get cooler :( It's still in the 80's here and will be all week....though a lot of the trees are starting to change color! :P

I usually wouldn't condone anyone stepping foot into any Big Lots in the state of Virginia, because I'm pretty sure they're so dirty you instantly catch strep throat upon breaching the mildewy threshold, but they do it up right for Halloween. I mean, I literally become ill every time I leave that place. Trust me, half price thin mints are not worth an antibiotic. As soon as I build my immune system up with some Vit. C and rest I might check it out. If I don't come back, blame Big Lots.

Hopefully you fine folks have sanitary Big Lots in your fine cities.

How did you think they keep their pieces so low? You didn't think it was because their merchandise comes from China where the use cheap labor, did you? ;-) They do have some good stuff though. I got a string of small skulls there a few years ago which I leave looped around my rearview mirror on my truck all year long.

Man, I need to check out the Wal-Marts here. Last time I checked was about a week ago and the Halloween area was still stocked to the brim with lawn and garden supplies. I wonder how much longer it will be before we see pumpkins for sale? Aren't they usually ready by mid to late Sept?
