You’re invited

Post by grim writer » Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:45 pm

You’re invited to a dinner
A banquet for ghosts
You’re their special guest
Don’t worry they’re most gracious hosts
When you see the invitation you think it’s a joke
But I assure you it’s most definitely not
So dress up nice and don’t be late
And don’t forget to bring the invite you got

You arrive at the place
It’s oddly familiar, like you’ve been there before
You walk up to the house
And knock on the door
You hesitate to enter
When the door opens with a creak
But against your better judgment
You step forward and take a peak

What you see is surprising
Something you’d never guess
You give a chuckle there just normal people
Sigh, you’re a little disappointed you confess
You think for a minute
Wondering if this is a trick
Your presence is detected
A woman in red steps over quick

She introduces herself as the hostess
And welcomes you in
You’re the last guest to arrive
Now dinner can begin
You sit down at the table
Today’s menu is pheasant
You’re hungry so you take a bite
And find that it’s quite pleasant

All of a sudden you start to feel sick
And don’t want to be here anymore
Your vision goes black
And you collapse to the floor
You awaken with a jolt
Above you faces loom
You sit yourself up
And have an odd sense of doom

When you get to your feet you feel light headed
The people around you start to moan
You realize that they are slightly translucent
In fear you let out a groan
You hear a wicked laugh
You turn and see the hostess in red
Looking down at the floor
You realize you’re dead

At your feet lies your body
Unmoving and cold like ice
You ate the food of the dead
And must pay the price
A ghost you’ve become
You cry out in fear
You’re trapped for eternity
To stay in this house here
You're a great friend but if the zombies chase us i'm tripping you
When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

se quedó encerrada
en una burbuja.
La bruja, la boba
con escoba y todo

I like this a lot :) i love reading other's poetry as well as writing .. this was very intertaining all the way to the end :)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
