You know, I have photos right now... I am still waiting for anyone to help me to scan and upload them online like photobucket.com or any other photo sites. Sorry, my digital camera is broken and I didn't use it. So, I had to use Polaroid camera with films inside. :(

I hope GOTG will help me if he wants to leave me his mailing address where I can send my pics to him, so he will upload it then send me the links. I know it sounds like suck! :?

Mine were also taken on a film camera. My dad had them developed on film and put on a CD at Walgreens. When we get them tomorrow or the day after, I well have them taken off the CD onto the computer, upload them on photobucket, them post them on here! :D

It needs to last at least a week
Well the Japanese version of Halloween does, but it's way different than our version.
It includes making little tiny boats to lead the spirits across the ocean...I can't remember everything about it...I think it's called boten or boken week...I remember reading about it in an issue of Shonen Jump.
In any case, I thought I'd pop in and say hello. I love halloween but I'm glad it doesn't last everyday...why? I've seen a movie about Christmas everyday and cartoons...if Halloween was everyday it wouldn't be special anymore.
My halloween didn't turn out bad...I got pizza and bought candy to hand out...and plenty left over to munch on. Wore my piratey costume too.
Didn't get to do everything I wanted to do though, but that's alright. I'm hoping to be moved out and gone back to college next year so I can have a little more freedom to do what I want for Halloween. It was fun while it lasted, but it certainly sneaked up on us pretty quick didn't it? But I kind of like to think of Halloween as the begining of the Holiday Season. Some people think the Holidays start in November, but technically Halloween IS a holiday, and the celts believed it marked the ending of the old year and the beginning of a new one...so it makes sense to me that Halloween is the REAL beginning to the Holidays.
Anyway hope y'all had a good time! I'll see you guys around! I may start getting a day off again next week XD;

Boy; that went quick!

I has 'server' codes as well, besides the weather was so stormy & awesome I didn't want to blow up my computer (even with a heavy-duty UPS) by turning it on.

Yes, I agree. It is a bit depressing to see my favorite holiday, and the only holiday that still has some tradition left to it, over so quickly, but we all can rest assured that in 362 days, Halloween 09 will be with us once again, and we will be pulling that "Great Pumpkin" CD. I am SORT OF looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, but Halloween is undoubetedly my favorite.

Well there is still hope. Hope that next Spring, when I make another attempt at growing a pumpkin patch, that I will actualy get a pumpkin or two, and the rabbits and squirls will go some place else for a snack. There's hope that some of the horror movies being released in 09 will actualy be playing in the theatres in October. There's hope that Trick or Treat will be extended so I can give away more candy and not have 2 bags of buttfingers and 4 bags of snickers left over. All though I did get rid of 3 bags of candy all together.

One can allways hope, dream and plan about next year. But tonight, the decorations come down. Put in boxes until the end of September, when that times comes again. It's time to start the Christmas cleaning, and this year I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner so I have to have it do ne early, but don't forget "little Halloween," which when the 13th of the month is on a Friday. Friday, February 13th, 2009 promises to be interesting, as it's the release date for the remake of the movie "Friday the 13th." I do plan to celebrate after the show with one of my fake Jack O'Lanterns, a fire in the fire place and one of my "Dark Shadows" video tapes. There are two mroe "Little Halloweens" in 09. March and November, will also be days that I light a fire in the fire place, put out one of my fake Jack O'lanterns and screan a horror movie. Perhaps I'll look in on Halloween.com to see what's happenig. Of course, I do plan to check in quite a bid during the off season, but it's time to bid farewell to Halloween for now.

I hope it was fun for you all.

Well, when I have someone else to scan and upload my photos online, then send me some links and I will post here, or I might go ahead and start my own photo thread later on. ;)

Anyways, I spotted my pics, I believe 2 or 3 pics with orbs.

It's disapointing to have candy left over? Are you nuts? I think it's great to have left over candy, that way you get to have some for yourself! :D If you have any left over next year, send it my way! :D

...yes I'm a chocolaholic...so sue me

Cool, that just means the ghosts are celebrating too. :D

Actualy, DemonSlayer, I love having candy left, and that's the problem. I have 6 months to lode 20 pounds so my insurance co will approve me for bariatric surgery. So having lots of candy left over is not a good thing, and yes, I did eat a few pieces, but I donated the bulk of it to my office candy stash.

Next year, after the surgery, it won't be as big a problem, because I won't be able to eat as much of it, or eat it as fast as I do now.

For the record, I lost 12 pounts so far, so if I can keep that up through March, I'll have more then enough weight off to satisfy my insurance co.

I still do have some leftover candies here, but my grandpa loves to eat all the time! :D Well, I don't eat that much candy myself, so I have to give some candies to the children I know from around the street. ;) I need to empy the candies out of the Halloween basket, so I can wash it up and put away. :?

Goodbye to all for another year. Hopefully the next Halloween season will be a bit better, something just seemed off this year and I can't put my finger on it. Hope everyone has a nice 'off season'. I may pop in here now and then when I feel I need a Halloween fix until next year. *waves bye*

It was the election, waaaaaay to much politiking this year.

And the economy, that threw it off as well.

When I was taking down my yard display yesterday I realized how much work I put into organizing the yard haunt this year. Most of my displays are up the whole month of October but it seems like I spend the whole year working on the FCG'S and the other props.

A lot of you are probably in the same boat. but it really comes down to a year of planning for one night collectively. I would have to agree Halloween needs at least a week. I know in upstate New York it seems like every year the haunted forests and haunted houses in the area have earlyier starts and stay open though Halloween.

Maybe we are seeing a trend, Halloween is starting to really take shape now by the second week of October where I am, Does anyone else notice similar stuff where they are?
Jack-o-lanterns are on the cutting edge.

My decorations go up on the the last 3 days of September, and they stay up all through october and through the 2nd of November. On the 3rd of Nov, everything comes down and is packed away for the year.

I don't have any yard displays, unfortunately other then a loan skeliton that I hand on my fromt porc light. Most of my decorating is in door. I do place two Jack O'Lanterns on my front porch railing on Halloween for Trick or Treat, however.

But all in all, it does require some planning, and every year I look forward to the traditions and fun as I allways did since my child hood on 111th and Drake.

I'm a bit sad that it is done too. On Halloween the server was very busy most of the day but handled a lot more visitors than it did last year. I'm trying to figure out even better options for next year to avoid any problems....the main site was working, but the forums were so busy the database server was having connection problems. :-)

I liked the link, by the way.
Rising Dead Man wrote:Kind of depressing that it's over isn't it? Sorry I was not on yesterday. I really wish I was on here but there must have been some problem with the website because when I tried to log on it said I could not because I had the wrong server (whatever that means) or something like that. Anyways, I had a good Halloween! :D I did not get a lot of candy, not even half a bag! But I am still happy with what I got. I always went with my parents before. I went alone this year! :D Not many houses were scary or decorated much this year. :( But there was one really cool house that had a chainsaw murderer!

I was going to post this link yesterday but I could not for some weird reason. So here it is now!
