Wearing the Same Costume every Hallween vs A Different One
When I was a kid, it was important that I did something different every Halloween. When I got older, my costume that I dress up in is usualy either a set of vampire teeth, or I make up myself like a wearwolf.
I was just curious to see how many people have a tradition of being the same thing every Halloween, ve how many who never repeat a costume.

Re: Wearing the Same Costume every Hallween vs A Different One
When I started making my own Halloween costumes, it had to be something different every year, and it was. I had two costumes when I was a "little tyke" A devil and a monster, which my mom bought at a discount store for 1.50. It came in a boc, had a madk pants and shirt. These "el cheapo" costumes alwo fit over regular cloths, and were not really designed to last. I did the Monster until I was about 6, then for two years I dressed up as a devil for two years. Then starting at age 8, I made my own.
The first costume I made was a vampire. That same year I wore my Tae Kwon Do uniform to the Cub Scout Halloween party. When I was 9, I made myself up to be a wearwolf. 10, I was the Frankenstein monster, complete with bolts, a red skar on my forhead and the back of my head squared off. At age 11, I was a robot, and at age 12, I went TOTing dressed as a sailor.

You only Trick or Treated until you were 12? I bet you wished that you carried on for a little bit longer, hey?

Like Lucy Van Pelt said, "A person should always choose a costume that is in direct contrast to her own personality."
I think if you have a classic look then every year is just fine.

When I was 13 years old, I was starting to feel self-consience about a lot of things. Unfortunately TOTing was one of them. I do with I had at least waited until I was in High School, but that's the way these things go some ti mes.
I do enjoy giving out the candy.
As for Lucy Van Pelt, a lot of people like to dress up as what they fantasize about being.

I didn't dress up for the past two years, and I can't remember what I was the years before.
But I plan on being a crow from now on, improving on the costume each year.

Every year when I was a kid my costume was totally different. One year a witch, the next a sailor girl.

I make one new costume every year dependent on what my halloween party is, then I recycle the old ones for trick or treat night. Add to that my husbands costumes and my kids...though I give away my kids kiddie costumes. I have a costume department to envy of most high school drama departments, thank goodness I have a big house!

Re: Wearing the Same Costume every Hallween vs A Different One
RisingDeadMan, I TOTed from the time I was a baby until I was 12. I was actualy 12 years old the very last time I TOTed for Halloween, and 13 years old when I felt self consience about it and decided it was time to stop. That was a mistake because just about everhone I knew who were in my age group still TOTed all through high school. When we moved to New Lenox, I answered the door to TOTers, and many of them were high school teenagers, and quite a few of them were from my school.
BUT, if I had ti to do over again, I would have TOTed until I was in high school.

Re: Wearing the Same Costume every Hallween vs A Different One
I use to do that, but these days it's hard enough to find the time to carve pumpkins and put up Halloween decorations, so I just go with a pair of vampire fangs for the most part unless I'm up for making myself up as a wearwolf.
