Lydie, that is bizarre. Why would someone go through the trouble of decorating then slam the door on TOTers? Obviously a sick person. I wouldn't blame the neighborhood kids if they gave her egg covered windows each mischief night.
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Quite cruel.
Dr Strange
Just there always has to be party poopers for every occassion, and there just happened to be one on Halloween who was christian to top it off. It could have been the father that decorated, who knows.

Well to be honest, I don't think it was her that did the decorating. There were kids at the window and we could hear them shouting 'Yay mum theres trick or treaters", so I don't know. I think the mother was trying to stop them from enjoying halloween.Haunted Horseman wrote:Lydie, that is bizarre. Why would someone go through the trouble of decorating then slam the door on TOTers? Oh that didn't ruin my Halloween, not at all, we actually met some lovely people that night. At the end of the night I remember walking away with 56 dollars and I gave my little cousins all the lollies from my treat bag.Dr Strange wrote:That actually happened? Wow. I can't even imagine, sorry it soured your Halloween.

I'd say an "overzealous christian"... if all Christian's were as zealous as that one, Halloween would be REALLY scary.Laydie Witch wrote:Just there always has to be party poopers for every occassion, and there just happened to be one on Halloween who was christian to top it off.
I'm glad she wasn't able to ruin Halloween.

I wouldn't be surprised if Halloween is really scary then, because here in New Zealand the trick or treaters are dropping like flies. ie, hardly any about any more.
Hardly any children go trick or treating, hardly any houses or decorations around on halloween, it's really sad and in this case, scary.
Maybe I should host a Monster Mash Festival or something. hmm.

Re: At What Age Did you Stop Trick or Treating?
I am 15 and I think 17 is the age to stop trick or treating. And if someone does not like Halloween they can mind there own business and not try to stop it or ruin it. My church celebrates Halloween and has Halloween parties!

No. I get really hairy and ugly but sometimes I am just too lazy to shave. I guess being lazy is just part of being a teenager. I hate it because I am too lazy to do it. There are all kinds of things I have trouble doing. Like homework. I used to have a hard time taking showers. I take showers almost everyday now! I am so glad I am not too lazy for that anymore! I just have to get used to shaving and doing homework now.

To me Halloween is about having fun with all things scary. So I easily got out of trick-or-treating when I was 10. I got more into real Haunted Houses and making my friends scream to death. (they are good sports)

Obviously, or they wouldn't be your friends!Ghost wrote:To me Halloween is about having fun with all things scary. So I easily got out of trick-or-treating when I was 10. I got more into real Haunted Houses and making my friends scream to death. (they are good sports)
I started partying in cemetaries in high school, and only a few friends would stay after nightfall.
Those few are still my friends.

My mum and dad were exactly the same until 3 years ago. I have only been a 'real' Halloweenie (XD) since 3 years ago. Before that I answered the door and wished it was me.magickbean wrote:It's true, it's true When I was a kid growing up, it wasn't very common for kids to go TOTing in my neighbourhood..perhaps even in the country! And my dad wouldn't let me go, because he considered it "begging"
