I want to become a horror writer someday.

Post by Rising Dead Man » Sat Jun 14, 2008 3:08 pm

And here is one of my ideas:

Scientists (not sure if I spelled it right I am not a good speller) are doing some twisted things. They are mixing the DNA of flys and other insects. They lock them up because they know they may be dangerous. Someone lets them out by mistake and they start breeding. And they bite people and give them a virus. When you have the virus you get very tired, start forgetting things, fall into a deep sleep and after a few hours wake up with a lot of energy. You forget everything. The virus messes up the brain and makes the victim want to rip off peoples jaws and kill them. The insects keep biting people and infecting them. Pretty soon millions of people are infected and the world will soon come to and end if someone does not do something about it. The story is about this guy in a group of survivors trying to find a cure and bring the world back to normal.

Sooooo.... what do you think?

It is the same idea as Night of The Living dead and Dawn of The Dead and other zombie stories but they are not zombies and they do not eat people. They kill people. People who get wounded by them but not killed get infected and after a few hours become one of them.

Night of The Living Dead was ok but I can not see the other movies. :(

I think it is a good turn out but I think its a little too origanal. It sounds like a combination of "The Fly", "The Stuff", and alot of zombie movies. My only advice is to try to mix it up a little. Other than that it is a great story and I think would really turn into something.Keep Working! :D

I got the idea from the zombie movies. I have only seen Night Of The Living Dead and Zombie but I know what the rest are about. It is the same idea but without zombies. I am not going to make it the same as those movies though. It is going to have blood and guts but it is not going to be nothing but blood and guts. It is going to have a real story.

But in my story the infected are not zombies. They never died like zombies do. They are infected when they are bitten, they fall into a deep sleep then they wake up and forget everything and go crazy and kill people. My story is not a comedy. It is a gory, scary, suspensful horror. And I think zombies eating people is getting really old.

I get it. I think it would be a good story! :D And to reassure your work, you did spell scientists right. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll be a great writer.

Another story of mine is a zombie story. It is called Walking Corpses. It is about a crazed scientist who creates his own electricity. (let me know if this is spelled right) He somehow creates a big lightning storm al over the world. The lightning hits everything. When it hits cemeteries the lightning shatters the coffins and brings the corpses to life. When the electricity hits the body it (I really don't know how to spell this) evaperates the embalming fluid and brings the brain to life. The brain makes the bones make new blood for the body and the electricity messes up the brain and makes the zombie feel anger for no reason so they go around killing people. (they do not eat people) And soon humans are dropping like flys. (the zombies do not turn people into zombies) Zombies are killing everyone. And this is going to be a series about this guy trying his best to survive and kill the evil scientist. So what do you think? Is it too much like the other zombie stories? I am going to try to make it very scary and suspensful.

I changed my mind. The the lightning only hits cemeteries Somehow the scientist makes the lightning storm go wherever he wants it.

Fist of all, yes, you did spell electricity right. :D It doesn't sound too familiar at all. However, in my opinion, in past stories a mad scientist seems a little over done. Can't you make it a little more out there like, military personnel in charge of handeling toxic waste don't take care of it properly, take control of a person, and does the whole cemetary lighning thing. :o Don't let me write your story it's just a suggestion. The example just came to my head! :)

The scientist making lightning hit cemeteries seems kind of stupid but I have had enough trouble thinking of a way for the dead to come to life so I am sticking with this.

It's to the point now where no matter what you write it's gonna remind somebody of something. It's the everything's been done thing.

BUT that doesn't mean you can't still write a good horror story. It just takes a lot of work. You got the right idea though. Just let your imagination run wild and your stories are going to come out better and better each time. Just go for it :)

I have a million ideas! :D Here is one more. Tom just died. But his sister keeps getting text messages from him saying he is not dead and was buried alive. She thinks it is just some guy messing with her with Toms cell phone. But she keeps getting text messages from him begging for help. Pretty soon she believes it and Toms grave is dug up. But Tom is dead and rotting and his sister sees the cell phone in the casket with him. That is all I made up so far and I think in the story something evil is going to be chasing her and trying to kill her.

I think your ideas are good. Keep 'em coming.

Have you ever heard of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)? It's the month of November and you basically write a novel in a month. I've never participated, but I think I just might this year... but I can't think of anything to write! Hehe. Still, the concept is a fun one and I've always wanted to write a novel.

If you're interested, you should check out NaNoWriMo. It's a pretty big thing.
http://www.nanowrimo.org/
http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/whatisnano wrote:What: Writing one 50,000-word novel from scratch in a month's time.

Who: You! We can't do this unless we have some other people trying it as well. Let's write laughably awful yet lengthy prose together.

Why: The reasons are endless! To actively participate in one of our era's most enchanting art forms! To write without having to obsess over quality. To be able to make obscure references to passages from our novels at parties. To be able to mock real novelists who dawdle on and on, taking far longer than 30 days to produce their work.

When: You can sign up anytime to add your name to the roster and browse the forums. Writing begins November 1. To be added to the official list of winners, you must reach the 50,000-word mark by November 30 at midnight. Once your novel has been verified by our web-based team of robotic word counters, the partying begins.
