I planned to just cut away the skin, but it proved to be a real chore. I just didn't have the tools I think I needed. The tool I thought would work, broke and I had to resort to the more traditional method. Oh well.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. But it turned out pretty good. And as always, I cut things a little too thin so at least one piece broke off. But it's nothing a small straight pin couldn't hold in place. The piece that broke was the lower edge of the upper teeth.
I plan to create a homemade flicker bulb device. It'll consist of two orange/yellow nightlight bulb style christmas lights, two candelabra bulb bases, and a flourecent starter. So if you want to do the project, plan to buy the bulbs while the christmas stuff is available.
(All other materials on the list will be available year round.) Let's hope I can get that project posted before Thanksgiving.
