The best and the worst of the Halloween horror series.

Let's talk Halloween movies. From John Carpenters original up to Rob Zombies remake. And everyone inbetween. Which are the best and worst of all the Halloween movies?
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween films 4 and on, and stated in another post, I have a fondness for III --- Season of the Witch, which I'm sure few others share.

Ultimately, I no longer distinguish the first two films separate --- II is the perfect sequel in the sense of timing ... picking right up where the original ends. Thus, I rarely watch either independentely and most always back-to-back.

The first has all the charm of a low-budget masterpiece and II has all the expectations of a big budget follow-up: together, they are the perfect Halloween.

I also see Parts 1 and 2 together and enjoy Part 3 separately. And I wish they would have taken the Halloween franchise in that direction with something like the soon-to-be-released Trick 'r Treat movie with various horror storylines set at Halloween. They've killed Michael to many times! However, I did like Zombie's remake, especially the beginning.
