Zombie Pumpkins is one of the best sites on the net for pumpkin carving. I've been a ZP carver for 4 years now and the reactions I get from the pumpkins is well worth the small donation needed to join the site.
I always recommend http://www.zombiepumpkins.com to everyone!
These are my 2006 Zombie Pumpkins.

They have Zombie Pumpkins and a whole list of other carving related sites in the Live Journal community I've been reading for a couple years now:
http://community.livejournal.com/pumpkincarving/
... of course, the community also has people who LOVE to carve pumpkins too. =)

Magicbean - Thanks! It does take some time and patience. It's also very addicting. You just start with one little one. You know, what could it hurt.
Before you know you have your own patch, you hit up friends to grow some 'kins for you and you still buy more when they start appearing in local stores. I'd say don't start but additction also loves company
BTW, the scariest thing on this site is your days to Halloween ticker!

Re: Zombie Pumpkins
Hey, anyone wanna help me? I always make some lines of the pumpkin too thin and I have to ckop up pieces of toothpick and stick them together with that. Got any advice to keep that from happening that doesn't include a pumpkin carving kit?
(tried it, it was cheaply made and didn't last through much.)

Re: Zombie Pumpkins
You can make the openings (cut out pieces) pretty thin, instead of the part of the pumpkin between the openings.
When lit up at night the cuts look larger than they actually are.
