Thank you both. :)

I made that post after midnight when my birthday had already begun, but far clarification, it's on the 30th.

I always get a standard birthday email from Facebook every year, it's cheesy, but I guess that most people like them. There's a screenshot below for those that require proof.

I spent a few hours with my mother on Fri. and she didn't even realize that it was my birthday. I guess that a lot has happened in 45 years. Yes, I'm 45 now, only 5 years until the big 5-0.

I also heard that Catherine O’Hara died the same day, she was only 71. She had some great roles over the years.

Oh, I see. You're on Eastern Time, I guess. In my time zone your post showed up before midnight.

So if I join FB, they'll be announcing my age to the universe, I guess. I'm thinking of doing that bc another forum I've belonged to for about 20 yrs is closing down, and I want to keep up with some friends I've made that way. Not that I really mind telling my age. I realized years ago that if you try to lie about it, you can't talk to people about things you remember, and I like to do that.

You're so good about remembering everybody else's special day. I hope I can do the same for you next year, but I'd better not make any promises.

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Don't worry about it, neither of you have to remember my birthday, hardly anybody does other than my wife and kids, and even most of my employees don't know when my birthday is.

Besides, you're both aware that I'm just a figment of your over productive imagination, right? I'm not actually real. :D
Oh, I see. You're on Eastern Time, I guess. In my time zone your post showed up before midnight.
Well, THAT certainly explains your unusual replies to my posts in this specific thread. This whole time I just thought that you were mixing up the dates because you always say that it was yesterday instead of today.

Yes, I'm on EST here. I thought that once I make a post that the time is the same across the forum, as most of my posts are made after midnight, so I assumed that when you saw it in the morning that you saw the same time that I do. But just so you know, Andy's is on Jan. 15th, and even though they aren't here anymore, MauEvig's is on Jul. 23, and Mike's is on the 24th. I also remember the birthdays of other members here even though I have had absolutely no interaction with them, but that information will always be in my head simply because I read it.
So if I join FB, they'll be announcing my age to the universe, I guess.
No, Facebook doesn't publicly share any of that information, unless you specifically go into your settings and allow that info on your profile. However, anybody that's on your friends list will automatically be sent a notification letting them know that it's your birthday, or for any other special occasions that you want. The good thing about Facebook is that strangers can't just contact you as they please, if somebody wants to communicate with you they have to send you a friend request first, and only after your request is approved can you send messages to other people.

I don't have a personal profile on Facebook, only business accounts, but they require a real name to register for a business account, so that's why they send me a birthday notification.
I'm thinking of doing that bc another forum I've belonged to for about 20 yrs is closing down, and I want to keep up with some friends I've made that way.
Well, I have some suggestions for you ...

1. You could join Facebook, especially if your friends are already there, and you said that your kids already have accounts there, so they could show you how to use it.

2. Just use email to stay in touch with them.

3. Since I'm always awake at night, I could build a new forum for you and your friends. It wouldn't be anything fancy, just a basic forum for you to stay in touch, you could still post photos, and possibly videos. It would be created using a free website to host the forum, so there might be ads, but you can get around those with a private browser.

Obviously, because I would be creating the forum, I would have to be a administrator there, but I wouldn't be around unless there's a issue, so I won't interfere with any of your conversations. Creating a new forum is probably the best option if you and your friends are reluctant to join Facebook, or don't like using email often.

Let me know if this is something that you're interested in doing, I just built a new website for the diner, and I could probably have a new forum for you in a few days. I know that you don't know how to send links, so you can send me a PM with the name of your forum and I'll find it and confirm it with you, and you could even choose the name for the new forum. You don't have to answer right now, just take some time to think about it.

By the way, this screenshot shows what my post looks like to me. There's also a screenshot of the various time zones across the country, for any of you sleuths that have wondered where I'm located, this should narrow it down. You already know that it snows where I live, so it's definitely not Florida. I honestly haven't ever really cared about the time difference because most of the people that I know run on the same time that I do.

Man, I guarantee this was the longest post ever made in this thread!

Thanks for the offer, HH, but I think I'll pass re the new forum. I think I'm the only one there who's not currently on FB, so the obvious answer is for me to join, too. They've already been telling me I should. Plus some of my far-flung cousins would like it.

I lived on Eastern Time for about 9 years, I guess, in Georgia and Virginia. I never really got used to it. I'm a Central Standard kind of girl.
