Dead people taste like candy corn
that's what the zombie said
Dead people taste like candy corn
Can I munch on your head?

Please don't run
cause my pants are undone
and my legs are rotting away

Dead people taste like candy corn
let me nibble on your toes
Dead people taste like candy corn
Or could I just eat your nose?

No wonder Zombies go crazy trying to eat people...
Who doesn't like Candy Corn?
...hehe wait until you see what I post tomorrow
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

Poem

Post by spookyboo » Fri Sep 14, 2007 11:25 am

Twas the night before Halloween and all through the house
there were creatures stirring, One even ate the mouse.
Our jack o lanterns were perched upon the mantle with care
In hopes the boogyman would soon be there.
The children were nestled all tied in their sacks
while slimy green bugs crawled up and down their backs
Mamma was in her witch hat and I in my matching cap
had just settled down to eat a late night snack
when out in the yard there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my coffin to see what was the matter
away to the window I "flew" like a bat
tore open the creaky shudders and threw up the sash
The full moon that glistened on the fallen leaves below
gave off an errie light that seemed to glow
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
but a gruesome apparition and demons with spears.
This foul smelling creature so horrified me as I ran
I knew it a moment it must be the
Boogyman!!
More rapid than dragons the courses they came
and he moaned and groaned and called them by name
On Dangler on mangler on poker on splitz'em
on vomit on putrid on hacker on spitzin
To the top of the porch to the top of the wall
now fly away, fly away, fly away all
As dry leaves that before the hurricane fly
when they meet with an obstacle mount with the sky
So up to the rooftop the courses they flew
These 8 little demons and
the boggyman to
And then in a second I heard above
banging and moaning, all sounds that I love
As I drew in my head and was turning around
Down the chimney the boodgyman came with a bound
He was dressed all in rags from his head to his uh..foot?
his clothes were all grimy with ashes and soot
he had great big puss filled sores all over his back
and the demons were an ugly warty little pack
His eyes how they glared, his pimples how many
his cheeks were like rotted flesh his nose ..well his nose was gone sorry
his ugly crooked tooth filled mouth was as gross as they go
and the foam on his chin was as white as snow.
The stump of a toe he held tight in his teeth
and the stench of it circled his head like a wreath
The demons were retched and moldy like the corpse of an elf
and I screamed when I saw them in spite of myself
with a sneer of his eye and twist of his head
soon gave me to know I had everything to dread
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work
he filled up our jack O lanterns
then turned with a jerk
and laying a a finger beside...the hole that would have been his nose
and giving nod up the chimney he rose
He flew into the air and to his demon hoard gave a growl
then the whole bunch of them began to cackle, screech, and howl
But I heard him exclaim as they flew from my sight
Happy Halloween...I hope you had a good fright!!!
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

My husband heard me laughing, and I read him some things.

He shook his head and said: "Just think, if you all put your minds together for Good...."

LOL!!

EXCELLENT SPOOKYBOO!
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Poem

Post by spookyboo » Sun Sep 16, 2007 6:31 pm

At last the wicked Chill doth linger about my spine
and the full moon's light upon my face doth shine

O grope thee in the darkness
bare branches in the night
I shall dance most gleefully
beside blazing pumpkin light

An ode to Halloween
Twists eagerly to thine tongue
Its dark and errie secrets known
Halloween has Begun

I have posted this on a different thread but not here so I brought it over.

Oh where Oh where has Dr. Strange gone, Oh where or where can he be?
His poems were good and so Fu-un-ny
Oh where o where can he be?
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

It is a dark and gloomy night.
Werewolves howl in the pale moonlight.
Zombies and ghouls stalk the street,
Where vampires lurk and witches meet.
A blood-curdling scream pierces the night,
As the Jack-o-lantern grins with evil delight.
Chills are dancing up your spine....
Halloween is pumpkin time!

(OK, so this was on the packaging for some decorations that I bought at K-Mart about 7 years ago. I thought it was cute, so I edited it and changed a couple of phrases. My husband actually recorded this in his best Bela Lugosi voice, complete with sound effects, for our answering machine during October one year. Everytime I'd answer the phone, somebody would say, "No, hang up, I just want to hear the message!!" )

WOW! Such wonderful poems! Better collection of Halloween poems than I could find in any book, I bet.

Well, I had decided to stop posting here, but since Spookyboo asked so nice... :)

With a pint held in each paw
He’s the toughest of them all
His teeth have an ivory sheen

He’s a laugh down at the pub
But you better believe me bub
You don’t want to see him get mean

Oh, Paddy O’
Paddy O’
Paddy O’ Garou
He’s the Irish Werewolf!

On a chill Saturday night
With the town locked up tight
You hear his claws clicking down the street

With full moon over head
You’re as good as dead
If that’s when you and Paddy meet

Oh, Paddy O’
Paddy O’
Paddy O’ Garou
He’s the Irish Werewolf!

And when my brother was in jail
It was Paddy who posted bail
He’s a saint with a heart of gold

So we’re all discreet
When the town starts missing sheep
It’s not a bother truth be told

Oh, Paddy O’
Paddy O’
Paddy O’ Garou
He’s the Irish Werewolf!

I've wanted to join in on this for a while now - I'm enjoying it so much and there are so many great poems it is quite intimidating! lol

But I think I've written the poem I want to add:

Autumn’s Approach.

How sweet; the bitterness, the icy tickle
Carried upon the breeze,
The frowning brow of wilting wood
And the browning ferns of trees.

Through heavy mists I see him,
Through the steady growing gloom,
The Darkness feels so cold –
This Autumn’s in full bloom.

I stand still ‘gainst these thrilling chills,
Amidst the leaves too light to land,
And as I watch him creeping close,
I catch a glimpse of bony hands.

He crawls along the river shivering slight,
He approaches as the moon circles low,
His smooth orange head reflects the light,
A sight as pure as Autumn’s glow.

The Pumpkin Man has found me
And I’m lying on the leafy floor,
I’m thankful that I caught a glimpse of him,
For I will see no more.
