Addams Family 60th anniversary.

I'd looked up John Astin a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised to discover that he's still with us.

Raul Julia (R.I.P.) is my favorite Gomez, but Astin is a close second.

It would be hard to choose between Astin and Julia because they both played the character so well.

Astin. being the original, created the foundation for the character and gave a performance that still resonates with fans today. However, Julia brought a certain sophistication to the role that is also loved by fans, so while I can't choose between them, I can agree that nobody will ever come close to their performances.

With that said, I also want to mention that I liked the way Tim Curry played the character in the Addams Family Reunion movie, Daryl Hannah played Morticia in it and she was fine in the role. The movie was... well, watchable, and you should check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
