I read such a good book about Disney a few years ago, but it was from the library and I can't quite remember whose it was now. I thought looking on line would jog my memory, but there are too many of them. It might have been Neal Gabler's Walt Disney: Triumph of the American Imagination. Gabler rings a bell with me, and I know American was in the subtitle.

I found this light string on amazon for relatively cheap, about fourteen dollars.

The lanterns are seven and a half inches in diameter and the string is nineteen feet long.

Unpacking the wire is a bit messy because each of the eight positions are actually icicle lights that go down into each pumpkin.

It comes with a multifunction remote and uses 3 AA batteries.

That's a neat find!

Kroger had pumpkins on sale this week, and we got a big heavy one for $3.99. I don't usually buy them this early, as our warm weather can lead them to rot before the big day, so we're storing it in our shady carport for now. I hope it lasts.

A friend at the grocery store had warned us that the longshoremen's strike would affect produce first, so we were primed to buy early. Of course, the strike has been postponed now. I'm grateful our holidays should go forward fairly normally, at least.

"Now that brain that you gave me. Was it Hans Delbruck's?"

Igor: [pause, then] "No."

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "Ah! Very good. Would you mind telling me whose brain I DID put in?"

Igor: "Then you won't be angry?"

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "I will NOT be angry."

Igor: "Abby someone."

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause, then] "Abby someone. Abby who?"

Igor: "Abby... Normal."

Lol Young Frankenstein, right? Such a funny film. People think of it as a Mel Brooks comedy, but I'm pretty sure that Gene Wilder actually wrote it.

That's what I gather, but I doubt it would be such a masterpiece if only one of them were in charge.

You're probably right. There was creative chemistry going on.
