Are y'all ready for Easter?
I think we are! I picked up some Easter candy. Planning a nice low key Easter at home this year with my boyfriend.
I feel like Dollar Tree is a great place for decorations, even if they raised their prices to $1.25 you still find a lot of neat stuff in there. I found a few things.
They're really getting creative with those plastic eggs I've noticed. I found some shaped like little animals and had to get some because they had some that looked like cats.
I'm REALLY missing the Spring themed Lindor Chocolate Truffles and the Valentine ones. I used to get them each year during certain holidays. The neopolitan ones are ok I guess though.
I feel like Reeses really shines around Easter with their peanut butter chocolate eggs.
Oh! We did find some Easter themed Sonic toys earlier this year. Maybe I can post them here later. They had them at Target. Not sure if they still do, but we found all the characters. I thought it was really cool. The little bunny that you rescue in the games was included with a little Easter basket, and the other characters are decked out for Easter, even Dr. Eggman. (Easter HAS to be Eggman's favorite holiday...bet you can't guess why... )
Anyone have a favorite Easter candy?
How about you all? How are you spending Easter?

Re: Are y'all ready for Easter?
Well, we are hyper involved at our church. My husband and I both sing in the choir, so we started the week with two services on Sunday. Then we had a Weds rehearsal. Last night was Maundy Thursday, so, another performance. Tonight is Good Friday, so we'll sing again. On Easter itself there are three services, and we'll sing at two of them.
Tomorrow is the children's activity, and my husband is involved because he teaches Sunday school. It's not just an egg hunt tomorrow, but instructional activities and games, including Stations of the Cross. And on Sunday there will be Easter brunch at church, for which I and many others will cook. By Easter afternoon I'll be ready to collapse.
Candy: I like chocolate, and my husband likes tangy sweet-tart things. We agree that Jelly Bellies are the best beans, though Starburst beans are a good second. Chocolate? I'm not sure. Maybe I like Andes mints the best, though I generally like Hersheys, too.

Jelly Bellies, Smarties, dyed eggs...chocolate bunnies.
Yep, all set.
Nobody is in the mood to cook so it's pizza for Sunday.
I did deck the halls with spring stuff including tulips from the front yard.

Re: Are y'all ready for Easter?
Happy Easter everyone!
Nice decorations Andy! Thrift stores are some of the best places to find stuff.
I didn't really have much time to decorate for easter this year. It snuck up on me. XD Oh well. I got to put a few things up at work at least, just some cut outs of bunnies and eggs that I made in the resource room with their little cut press thing.
I haven't had jelly bellies in a long time. I like them sometimes, but I'm a big chocolate fan. Anything else I tend to not eat up fast enough.

Re: Are y'all ready for Easter?
Mau, you said Easter "snuck up" on you this year. I think it did that to everybody, since it was early. I prefer April Easters. And I had zero energy to plan a nice meal at home. Consequently I'm determined to celebrate it as a season this year (which technically it is; it lasts through Pentecost or Whitsunday). So I think I'll have an Easter dinner later this week.

Re: Are y'all ready for Easter?
Lol. I bought jelly beans to make a little Easter candy treat I didn't get around to this past weekend. I saw it in a magazine. Fudge brownies, topped with Chinese noodles cooked with marshmallows to form nests on top of the brownies. Jelly beans for eggs. Peeps birds for the mama's. It's probably going to be one of those things that looks better than it tastes. I'll make enough on Fri or Sat so that if the four of us decide they're not all that, I can take the remainder to church on Sunday morning for the coffee hour.
