"LITTLE HALLOWEEN" THIS FRIDAY!!

Hi Folks:

This is just a little reminder that "Little Halloween" is THIS COMING FRIDAY, May 13th. I don't know about you, but I don't plan to miss out on the fun.
I will be screening "The Changeling," grilling burgers and playing lots of tunes.

Well, I ended up ordering a pizza, but my friends and I watched "The Changeling," and then we played music for pretty much most of the evening. All in all, it was another success!

Hi johnsoneliza52, welcome back. I hope you can stick around and join in, or start a conversation, it would be nice to hear from more people here.

We had another awesome Little Halloween. We decided to just have the party at our place instead of going out like last time, we had to wait until school was out so we started at 4pm, and we had about 10 kids and 5 adults in total at the party.

The kids were wearing costumes, and we played games and watched some scary movies, and like Mike, we ordered pizza for everyone. We also had a scavenger hunt for the kids, where they could find candy and other prizes.

I would say that the only complaint about the party was trying to get people to show up, some of the parents are still paranoid about the pandemic, and I understand that, but that is exactly why kids need a party to feel normal again. It was annoying trying to explain the concept of Little Halloween to some parents that just didn't get it, some didn't want to go because they were superstitious about having a party on that day, and others didn't understand why the kids had to wear costumes.

But eventually we convinced a few parents to let their kids attend, and we had a great time and are looking forward to the next Little Halloween party.

I'm doing my part.

I made 1/2lb burger patties and sautéed a big pan of onions to go with them.

Beef franks as well, l like to split them open lengthwise, and cook them open side down on a griddle.

Corn on the cob and oven roasted vegetables and I'm sure that macaroni salad or potato will show up...maybe both.

These were the BEST burgers I had made to date.

The seared grill marks were crisp and flavorful and the insides pink but not bloody.

There are 4 patties left in the freezer, saved for the 4th.

I absolutely love those half pound burgers. I do that too. Sometimes I broil them in the oven, other times I do them on the grill. When I grill them, however, I usually go with raw onion mixed with sautéed. I just ordered pizza for May 13th, though.

Tonight is date night so we are going out for dinner, I have someone come and take care of dad once a week, usually Thursday night. I look so for to these nights, my dad is a loving old guy, so he's not much work really but when you are use to just getting up and going out it is nice , he is very slow , it takes him 45 minutes to get ready to go out the front door, lol!
