Lol. That's one way to look at it. Never having lived in intense winter areas, I can get a bit wistful about it.

Believe me, you would. I do love my new house and my new town, but Winter and I will never be what you would call close friends. But at least there aren't any flies and mosquitos buzzing about.

Ha! I live in a coastal valley, 300' above sea level and we've had record snow fall the past 3 winters.

It's not normal, and 'wistful' is not the word that comes to mind.

The photo is of my car in our historic one day snowfall of 11", for a total of 14" in 2 days.

Winter of 2014, if I had a dollar for each time I had to in berry my car out of snow, I would be a wealthy man right now. I would dig it out, and an hour later it would be buried again. That was the year of the great polar vortec, which made a little bit of a come back last January. It wasn't as bad as 2014, but it was bad enough.

Those VW Beatles are very popular in college towns these days. Sort of reminiscent of the late 60s and ealy 70s when VW Beatles and micro busses were all the rage. I'm considering a VW Jetta or one of their cross-over or SUV models.

Aww, I'm sorry you can't celebrate longer! But at least you are making money. That is usually welcome.

I sure wish I could get a full time job to supplement my retirement pension.

I need a job to suppliment my aggressive unemployment.

Good thing I have a vast family, and my state has honest-to-god, single payer, free healthcare.

With the Illinois minimum wage going up to 15.00 per hour, a full time job at Walmart or McDonalds would work great for me. That would put quite a lot of supplement into my income. Unfortunately they all seem to favor younger job seekers. I'm pushing 60.

At any rate, I won't quit until I find a job!

A $15 minimum wage sounds great, but I worry that it will depress the job market in those places where it is required.

Good luck in finding a job that works for you, Mike!

Thanks, Murf. Like I said, I'll just keep at it until something 'clicks.' In regards to the job market, what might happen is that employers required to pay that wage will be given a tax break. In fact, if corporations could deduct employee salaries from their income taxes, they just might start bringing jobs back into this country.
